A night waiting for the moon to rise.
I planned this night out to near perfection! Checked out my spot, figured that the moon would rise right behind Le Rocher Percé, got there very early in the morning under the clear skies covered in stars and waited for the moon to peak right at the edge of the rock.
Several minutes before the planned moment, a huge shadow was looming in. A dense fog was rolling rapidly towards me...
I photographed the rock backlit by the moonlight before they both disappeared behind the fog and got out of there ASAP. By the time I got to my car, I couldn’t see 20 meters in front of me.
At dawn, I went out on a vantage point and enjoyed the sunrise slowly burning the fog.
Things didn’t go as planned. Still pretty!

Having some fun with an event that comes around every 7000ish years! Have you checked it out yet?

The comet is easy to find in a dark sky: the Big Dipper is pointing towards it! At least until the comet fades in the distance of space.

Have you ever woke up at 5000 feet above sea level next to a cliff and a waterfall to catch the sunrise? We have! That how you get the best view of the Drakensberg under some great light. One of my fondest memory from our adventures in South Africa.

Can’t go out and shoot anymore.
This past week, I spent all my time at home with my 2 kittens ! I’m going to set up a home studio and make them do a photoshoot with me! Hope they are willing participants like the 2 young lions!
In this photo: Early riser gets the worm!! We found these 2 chilling next to the road at 5 am. Giving us a great show just for us for a whole 20 mins before other car caught up with us!
