SpotterCue called it. ✈️

A few minutes after the alert, this Cargolux Boeing 747-400F passed almost directly overhead at roughly 37,000 ft.

Still one of my favourite aircraft to catch from the ground. The 747 is just unmistakable, even at cruising altitude.

When an Emirates Airbus A380 passes overhead, you take the shot.

UAE30Y cruising high above Québec with four engines and four contrails one of those aircraft that looks enormous even from the ground.

The focus point in the video might have had other ideas 😂, but the photo was absolutely worth it.

In my last video, I showed the aircraft alert system I built to help me know when something worth photographing is about to pass overhead.

Now I’ve turned it into an actual app.

In this video, I jump inside SpotterCue and show how I’m building it around the way I actually photograph aircraft - live aircraft data, upcoming passes, positioning, elevation, distance, lighting conditions and the information I want before I grab the camera and head outside.

The idea is simple: instead of constantly watching a flight tracker, I want the system to tell me when there’s actually a photograph worth chasing.

It’s still very much a work in progress, but it’s starting to become something I can genuinely use.
