Paris always makes me think differently about wedding photography.

Maybe it’s because beauty here doesn’t feel like something reserved for special occasions.

People get dressed beautifully just to have dinner.

Architecture that has existed for centuries becomes the backdrop of someone’s ordinary Tuesday. Fashion, art and history somehow coexist with people rushing to work, drinking coffee and crossing the street.

And I think there’s something about that contradiction that I want more of in my own photographs.

Something elevated, but still effortless.
Fashion-forward, but still human.
Intentional, without feeling overly perfect.

Because I don’t think choosing between fashion and feeling should ever be part of wedding photography.

You can care deeply about the dress. The architecture. The composition. The way an image could almost belong in the pages of a magazine.

And still want photographs that feel completely like you.

I love creating photographs with intention. Finding beautiful light, noticing the lines of a building, adjusting a hand by an inch, or knowing when a dress needs movement instead of another pose.

But I never want the pursuit of a beautiful photograph to make someone feel like they’re spending their wedding day on a photoshoot.

Maybe that’s the balance I’m always chasing.

Knowing when to create something beautiful, and knowing when to simply let life happen in front of us.

Images with the presence of fashion, but the feeling of a memory.

Paris was a beautiful reminder that we never really have to choose between the two. 🤍

Where do we even begin with S&D’s wedding?

There was so much personality woven into this day and Sharlyn gave us three absolutely stunning gowns, each one feeling like its own fashion moment. From the details in the morning to every outfit change throughout the night, photographing her honestly felt like having an editorial shoot unfolding in the middle of a wedding day.

But what made the day so much fun to photograph was everything happening in between those beautiful, polished moments. David’s reactions, their families surrounding them, the hugs after the ceremony, and that burst of celebration as David broke the glass and everyone cheered around them. From there, it was champagne, laughter, dancing, people pulling them in every direction, and a dance floor that became more and more wonderfully chaotic as the night went on.

And then there was their reception.

S&D envisioned their celebration surrounded by the feeling of an enchanted forest, and Elyna Kudish Events brought that vision to life in the most incredible way. She transformed the atmosphere of the beautiful Four Seasons Hôtel Montréal ballroom with layers of deep green draping, towering trees, florals, candlelight and even two owls. It genuinely felt like we had stepped into a forest for the evening 🦉🌳

We’ll look for the light.

The architecture.

Milan was the perfect playground for that.

A city where fashion and architecture seem to speak the same language from the incredible scale and symmetry of the Duomo to the warm glow, intricate details and unmistakable elegance of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Because beautiful photographs aren’t created by simply putting people in beautiful places.

They’re created by understanding what makes a place beautiful and knowing how to photograph you within it.

That’s a huge part of our secret sauce.

We notice how the light falls. How the architecture can frame you. Which angle is most flattering. When a tiny adjustment makes all the difference. When natural light tells the story beautifully and when a little flash can turn a moment into something that feels straight from a magazine.

You don’t need to think about any of it.

You get to experience the place, be with each other and actually live the moment while we quietly take care of everything else.

Because whether we’re photographing somewhere we’ve been a hundred times or discovering somewhere completely new...

Last Saturday, S*M celebrated an intimate wedding surrounded by about 80 of the people who have shaped their lives.

As the day unfolded, it became clear that this celebration wasn’t about creating a spectacle. It was about honouring family, tradition, and the people who have been there through every chapter.

One detail that perfectly reflected that was the fashion.
Massimo’s mother, a fashion designer, lovingly designed not only Stefania’s wedding gowns, but every dress worn by the bridal party. It wasn’t simply beautiful craftsmanship, it was such a deeply personal way of wrapping the people she loves most in something she created with her own hands.

As photographers, those are the stories we’re always drawn to.

Not just how something looks.

But why it exists.

Throughout the day, there was no shortage of iconic portraits and magazine-worthy moments, but some of our favourite photographs happened quietly in between.

A proud glance from a parent and grand parent.

A squeeze of the hand before the ceremony.

The laughter shared between lifelong friends.

Seeing familiar faces again including Sammy and Adoria, whose wedding we had the honour of photographing three years ago made the day feel even more special. Watching families grow and celebrating alongside them again is one of the greatest privileges of what we do.

Because that’s what weddings become over time.

Not simply a collection of beautiful photographs.

But a family’s history.

One generation inspiring the next.

One story becoming part of another.

You’ll be laughing through cocktail hour, completely unaware of the way your guests are experiencing the celebration you’ve spent months dreaming up.

Every destination teaches us to notice something new, and every place we visit makes us better storytellers for the couples who trust us.

Paris is one of those places I could return to over and over again, and somehow I’d still notice something new.

Not just the famous landmarks.

The way the morning light wraps around the limestone buildings.

The symmetry of a doorway.

The clean lines leading your eyes through a quiet street.

The contrast between centuries-old architecture and modern fashion.

The way a shadow slowly moves across a café terrace.

Most people walk through Paris and simply think,

“It’s beautiful.”

I’m usually asking myself,

“What is it about this place that makes us feel something?”

Because once you understand why a place feels beautiful, you begin to understand how it deserves to be photographed.

That’s exactly how approach every wedding,

Whether it’s a château in France, a villa on Lake Como, or a wedding much closer to home, we’re always studying the same things:
