✨urban development✨

The third urban development is here.
As simple as this animation may seem, I read a lot of things in it.
Was it intentional? Not at first; but it all made sense during the creation process.
References and reflection about genocide, public transportation unaffordability, access to public water features during heatwaves, and discriminatory organization of public spaces.
All in one picture.

This makes me wonder… how things are placed in a specific space at a specific time (wrapped in on photograph) can tell you about the social and political reality of our time.

The original content for this animation is a picture I took with my iPhone XR during summer 2025 in Paris.
I used Adobe Photoshop to create the different frames, assembled them in Adobe premiere pro, then spiced it up with some sound effects from YouTube audio library.

🎉 Une nouvelle étoile rejoint notre équipe... Bienvenue, Steffie Boucher _ Photographer !!!

Aujourd'hui, on a une belle nouvelle à partager: Steffie Boucher (elle/iel) rejoint notre équipe des communications en tant que Gestionnaire des réseaux sociaux et Adjoint·e aux communications. Et franchement? On se sent vraiment chançeux·ses! 🙌

Vous le connaissez sûrement, mais dans le doute on vous la présente. :)

Steffie est un·e artiste noire q***r multidisciplinaire d'origine caribéenne, basé·e à Montréal, dont le parcours est aussi riche qu'inspirant. Formé·e en ingénierie, puis tourné·e vers la danse, la photographie et les arts visuels, Steffie a développé une pratique hybride et instinctive qui allie photographie, vidéo, stop-motion et création sonore. Son œil? Absolument unique. Sa sensibilité? Contagieuse.

Ce qui nous touche profondément chez Steffie, c'est aussi sa relation au milieu. Depuis des années, iel soutient activement la scène de la danse montréalaise, pas depuis les coulisses, mais en étant là, présent·e, engagé·e, bienveillant·e. Elle connaît les artistes, leurs réalités, leurs besoins. Et cette connaissance du terrain, combinée à son regard artistique d'exception, est un cadeau immense pour notre équipe.

On est tellement heureux·ses de t'avoir avec nous, Steffie. Bienvenue à Tangente! 💜

✨urban development✨(GAY edition)

Here we go again. The second urban development is here.
Just wanted to make the night fall 🌚so I tried a simple sequence. It only has 23 frames. I integrated a little mise en abyme as last time. It’s part of my process to watch tests of the animation over and over and over again 🫠- sometimes for the sake of saving time, I don’t transfer it on my phone but I take a video of my laptop screen to be able to rewatch it wherever I go (is it weird 🤷🏽‍♀️) anyway - only fair these videos make the cut.

Last April 2026 I have been blessed with another MIRAGE.
Naomi Gwynn’s LADY and Kluane Peabody’s CAROUSEL collide in a new immersive and experimental evening of dance. What a treat!!

Thank you to all talented people who showed us a great time “intérieur”. Bless that holy production space

✨urban development✨

I’ve been working on teeny tiny animations with long a** hours of post production - leave it to breathe then come back to it for multiple hours of edit.
Usually I love when there is a build up and everything gets crowded with new unexpected and unnecessary information - so lately I use low res photos or short videos, and I create something new with 🤓
Here the first one I post in 2026.🌱
