A little behind-the-scenes insight into my approach as a photographer, especially one that specializes in gymkhana ❤️

One of the things I love most about equine photography is capturing the partnership between horse and rider. While every ride is made up of thousands of tiny moments, a photograph freezes just one fraction of a second.
Because of that, not every technically "good" photo tells the whole story.

When I'm selecting images from an event, I'm looking for moments that showcase both horse and rider at their best. I pay attention to things like relaxed expressions, soft hands, balanced positions, and those beautiful moments that reflect the harmony and athleticism of the team.

Sometimes a horse will open its mouth for an instant, a rider's position may be caught mid-adjustment, or a single stride might look awkward when frozen in time. Those moments happen to everyone, and they certainly don't define the quality of the ride. More often than not, they're simply the result of capturing a split second that came and went before anyone even noticed.

My goal is to create images that riders are proud to share, while also helping present our sport in a positive and respectful light. Every horse-and-rider team works incredibly hard, and I believe the photographs we share should celebrate that dedication, partnership, and love for the sport.

Thank you for trusting me to capture your journey. It's a privilege to preserve these memories, and I hope they're the kind you'll enjoy looking back on for years to come.
