A chance meeting over a set of front steps in 1982 became a friendship that has now lasted more than four decades.
In this story, I reflect on the laughs, adventures, competition, travel, and one unforgettable phone call from Myrwood that changed the direction of my life and led me to a 33-year career in financial planning.

As many of you know, we were initially targeting a Fall 2026 publication date. However, BWL Publishers Inc. experienced a significant setback. I will respect the privacy surrounding that situation and say no more, except that it was serious enough for the publisher to revisit its production schedule.

The revised publication date is now June 2027.

At first, I was not a happy camper. But I understand the rationale completely. As Donna said in her inimitable way, using just two words: “So what!” Those two words put things into perspective. So, how do we deal with this?

My approach is to use this additional time well. We can ensure the website, YouTube presence, and promotional materials are up and running at a quality level that benefits from the extra preparation. We can also begin the sales campaign early and build momentum by gathering advance orders.

The sales of The Judo Book were outstanding: we sold out the first production run and are well into the next order. That experience gives me confidence in what is possible when people get behind a project.

So, let’s make lemonade from these changed circumstances.

We have a website newsletter to keep readers up to date on the project’s adventures, the people I meet, and other enjoyable events along the way.

Finally, please do not keep us a secret. We are working to make this free broadcast a real happening, with a goal of reaching 500 people.

528 hours. 22 days. Three weeks and one day.
That’s how long until September 4th—when I head out on another trip of a lifetime: a photography excursion through Scotland.
I’ll be spending two full weeks with my best buddy, Ed Farq. We’ve been “planning” this trip… correction: I said I was free to go, and Ed proceeded to design the entire adventure—including the p*e breaks.
This itinerary has been built around my photography needs, and Ed is taking it seriously. Just to make sure every shot counts, he even bought a buffer to ensure the windshield is crystal clear.
Anyone who knows the two of us together understands the potential danger involved.
Scotland, please prepare yourselves. The Highland Rogues are about to be unleashed.
