๐ค๐ MOTHERHOOD: RAISING LITTLE GOBLINS WHILE TRYING NOT TO LOSE MY LAST FU***NG MARBLE. ๐ฆ๐คฃ
Ohhh, my fellow overstimulated, under-caffeinated, slightly feral mamas... gather the f**k around because some of us are out here surviving on caffeine, sarcasm, unconditional love, and whatever sanity our little chaos goblins haven't stolen yet. โ๐
One minute you're teaching emotional regulation, kindness, and respect. The next you're repeating yourself for the 47th f**king time while two kids argue over something neither one of them even wanted five minutes ago. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฃ
And apparently we're supposed to handle all this with the patience of a saint? HAHAHA. Bitch, I need whatever Ms. Rachel and Blippi are having because coffee ain't doing S**T anymore. ๐
But here's something people seem to forget...
YOU SEE MOMENTS. I LIVE THE ENTIRE FU***NG STORY.
You see me being protective and call me controlling. You see me setting boundaries and call me difficult. You see me standing up for my children and suddenly I'm the villain.
Well, sweetheart, grab a f**king number. I've been the villain in plenty of stories told by people who didn't like being told NO. ๐
I know my children. Their personalities, struggles, strengths, fears, and the little things they don't always know how to explain. That doesn't mean I know everything, but it damn sure means I'm going to listen when something doesn't sit right.
And no, I'm not raising my children to blindly respect authority, tolerate disrespect, or believe that sharing DNA automatically entitles somebody to a place in their lives.
RESPECT GOES BOTH WAYS. BOUNDARIES AREN'T DISRESPECT. AND KINDNESS DOESN'T MEAN BEING A FU***NG DOORMAT.
My children don't have to like everybody. But they do need to understand that disliking somebody doesn't give them permission to bully, belittle, or mistreat them. There's a difference between standing up for yourself and being an as***le.
And before somebody starts with the whole "perfect mother" bu****it... HAHAHA, WHERE?! ๐คฃ
I've lost my patience. I've raised my voice. I've questioned my decisions and replayed situations in my head wondering what I could've done differently.
THE DIFFERENCE IS, I'M WILLING TO OWN MY S**T.
I apologize when I'm wrong. I listen. I learn. Because expecting accountability from my children while refusing to demonstrate it myself would make me one hell of a hypocrite.
Sometimes I look at my oldest and realize we were both figuring s**t out together. My child was learning how to navigate the world while I was learning how to be somebody's mother. Neither of us came with a f**king instruction manual.
And with each child came a different personality, different challenges, and a whole new collection of lessons I apparently needed to learn. Especially patience... which I'm convinced these little gremlins test recreationally. ๐๐คฃ
But underneath all the chaos, there's something a lot of people don't see.
SOME OF US ARE RAISING CHILDREN WHILE HEALING FROM THINGS WE NEVER SHOULD'VE HAD TO EXPERIENCE OURSELVES.
I wasn't handed some magical blueprint for a healthy, happy family. I've had to figure things out, unlearn some bu****it, seek help, and accept that growing as a person sometimes means admitting you didn't have everything figured out in the first place.
And somewhere along the way, I've realized something else...
BEING A GOOD MOTHER SHOULDN'T REQUIRE COMPLETELY LOSING YOURSELF.
I deserve happiness, peace, laughter, and a life outside of making sure everybody else's needs are met. And so does every other mama who's been running on empty for so long she's forgotten what feeling like herself even looks like.
So to the mothers questioning old beliefs, learning healthier ways to parent, and doing their best to raise decent humans in a world that's already f**ked up enough...
I hope something beautiful happens to you. Something that reminds you there's more to life than constantly surviving the next difficult day. I hope you get to laugh until your stomach hurts, experience genuine peace, and remember that you matter too. ๐ค
And to the people who think they know somebody's parenting, their children, or their entire life based on a handful of moments they've witnessed...
YOU'VE SEEN A FEW FU***NG CHAPTERS. STOP ACTING LIKE YOU WROTE THE WHOLE DAMN BOOK. ๐
My children aren't going to have a picture-perfect childhood, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. There'll be mistakes, disagreements, hard conversations, and probably a few more arguments over whose turn it is to pick the f**king TV show. ๐
But there'll also be love, laughter, accountability, respect, and the freedom to become their own people without feeling like they owe the world a performance.
Some days we're thriving. Some days we're barely f**king surviving. And some days I'm convinced these little chaos goblins are running an organized psychological operation against my last two functioning brain cells. ๐ฆ๐คฃ
But here's the thing...
I'M NOT RAISING MY CHILDREN TO BE OBEDIENT LITTLE PEOPLE-PLEASERS WHO SPEND THEIR ADULT LIVES RECOVERING FROM THEIR CHILDHOOD.
I'm raising humans who know their worth, respect others without sacrificing themselves, recognize when they're wrong, and aren't afraid to stand up for what's right... even when that means standing up to ME.
BECAUSE MY JOB ISN'T TO RAISE CHILDREN WHO SPEND THEIR LIVES TRYING TO PLEASE ME. IT'S TO RAISE ADULTS WHO DON'T HAVE TO SPEND THEIR LIVES HEALING FROM ME. ๐ค
And if protecting that, questioning outdated bu****it, and refusing to parent for everybody else's approval makes me the villain?
THEN HAND ME THE FU***NG CAPE, SWEETHEART. I'VE GOT CHILDREN TO RAISE, CYCLES TO BREAK, AND ABSOLUTELY ZERO F***S LEFT TO GIVE ABOUT THE AUDIENCE. ๐ฆ๐๐ค
๐ค Peace, Love & Light โจ
