Tall Oaks Photography by Amanda B. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey for my future in photography. I have a lot to lear

I've always had a creative spark in me since I was little, and as I continue to grow, so does my love for photography. For years I've been learning behind my lens and capturing precious moments of special people in my life. This little hobby is turning into a true passion and I’m excited to see where Tall Oaks photography will bring me. Oak trees symbolize courage and are proven to withstand all t

hings and it has taken me some time to gain that courage to pursue my passion. I hope to one day capture a special moment in your life and help create special memories that will last a lifetime. For any inquiries or to book a session, please contact me by e-mail at: [email protected]

Trying to decide what to share after another month of quiet here...this session felt like it deserved the spotlight 🤍

This morning I've been reflecting on the fact that in just 13 days, we'll be saying goodbye to the home we've loved for the past 13 years 🥺 The home where my babies were born and raised.

Homes are so much more than four walls. They hold the stories that shape us. That's why there is something so incredibly special about documenting any season of life within the place that means the most...home.

As bittersweet as this chapter feels coming to a close, I'm so grateful for all the memories our home has given us. Another journey begins soon and I cant wait to share more as we transform the next house into our forever home 🥰

A + D requested 2 hours of coverage for their wedding at Camp Kandalore last September and they wanted to document what mattered most to them:

1. Their family and friends who travelled from both near and far, even from the UK!

2. Their ceremony, officiated by a close friend, filled with heartfelt blessings from guests and unique moments, like drawing names from a bag to choose their witnesses, followed by everyone singing Yellow by Coldplay together.

It was a day centered around connection where the focus wasn’t only on them, but also on the people who mean the most to them.

They requested “one nice photo of the bride and groom" which of course we got, though I gently stole 10 extra minutes for a few more portraits, knowing those images often become even more treasured with time.

The rest of my time was spent documenting the incredible love surrounding them during cocktail hour before I quietly slipped away as they entered the dining hall to continue celebrating.

It was such a unique and memorable experience, and a beautiful reminder of why I love offering smaller wedding and elopement packages for days exactly like this ♡

That "can't stop staring at you" feeling when your baby enters the world.

Ya, those are moments you defintiley don't forget and the ones you defintiley want documented.

Whether it's your first, next or last, you'll never regret investing in these moments ♡

A little Elopement in Jackson Park ♡

One of the things I love most about weddings is how uniquely each one reflects the couple. Whether big or small, it’s so special to witness the different traditions they incorporate and how they’ve thoughtfully planned their day to reflect what matters most to them.

I am truly looking forward to another year of documenting many new chapters for my amazing clients ✨️

It's been a minute since I've shared and that's simply because...

+ life has been pretty darn busy
+ deciding what to share became overwhelming so I froze and took a break
+ it's tax season 🥴
+ we sold our home (so thankfully no more keeping the house freakishly clean for showings 🙌)
+ our new home has an Air BNB therefore trying to navigate this (more to share in the future!)
+ planning and editing sessions is my priority at the moment!

With that being said, I saw today was ❤️ therefore I found a reason to sneak in a post, prove to the Algorithm that I'm alive and well... and simply to just say Hiiiiiii to all of you who are still here to support me and my passion!

I am pretty eager for all the changes that are coming our way as I prepare for the wild wave of summer weddings, sessions, moving and dirtbike racing that are on the way.... thanks for still sticking around and for all the continued love and support 🫶

P.s. it only dawned on me that I never got around to sharing this newborn session from a while ago when this fam was back in the studio for my mini portrait series 😅

It was a quick job.

One mafia mama + her little bodyguards. One who's shyness shines through his smile and the other, a bouncing toddler, clutching the hand warmer like contraband.

Family business handled in 20 min.

The cold didn't stand a chance.

🖤😆

I have always had a soft spot when it comes to the homes of our Grandparents.

Often they are where we've grown up, where bonds with our cousins got stronger and where we could {hopefully} always find unconditional love.

I am sad not having had documented much of my paternal Grand-parents home myself before they passed however I am grateful for all the memories I get to relive while looking through family albums through the years.

Documenting family memories in your home {or your Grandparents or family cottage} is always the location I recommend for many sessions. They are my soft spot.

When you look back on the memories we create together, I want that toy in the background to jog the faintest memory of your little one. I want the plush carpet to remind you of the times spent playing or wrestling on the floor. The background of these moments always bring you right back to those memories, and thats what photography is supposed to do; help you in reliving those moments and give you feeling.

If you are lucky enough to still have your Grandparent(s) around, I would LOVE to document memories for you this year. I would love to intentionaly document a family as they prepare and cook a family dinner together. I would love to document a family tradition that has been passed on through the generations. I would love to help preserve the home, the memories and freeze time for you.

Please reach out if this is something you'd like to learn more about. Trust me, investing in a session like this is priceless ♡

Honoring Family Day... just a few days late ♡

Here is to more carefree days, back road barefoot adventures, with many snuggles and more giggles.

My favorite family sessions are those that happen at your home or simply doing your favourite activity together. There's no forced smiles, just letting the children lead the way and flowing with your flow.

I have limited weekend availability left for June and July and then just limited weekday availability August through to October.

If you've been wanting to plan a family session to document this chapter of life, I would love to chat! Reaching out sooner helps in ensuring you secure your preferred date ♡
