Hope everybody is enjoying this crazy heat wave that’s happening here in Ontario! Out here on the trail it is incredibly challenging. Trying to keep cool and hydrated while carrying large amounts of water is almost impossible! On top of that wearing long pants and long sleeves with a bug net to preserve my sanity because of the bugs does not help with the heat! But... mornings like this make up for the struggles and hardships. Stay cool out there!!

So far this hike has been fairly challenging. The summer heat and humidity here in southern Ontario is tougher to hike in then I had thought and the bugs can drive you crazy! This morning the humidity finally broke for a few hours which made hiking much more pleasurable and to top off a beautiful morning was this magnificent sunrise on the trail between Lindsay and Fenlen Falls ON. Enjoy your night out there folks!

After a long day hiking in the hot Ontario sun we found a little slice of heaven to stealth camp in! Fingers crossed nobody makes us leave tonight. So far the trail has been beautiful with lots of rolling hills and long country roads with beautiful old farm houses along them. A surprising lack of water has made it tough hiking in the extreme heat and humidity though. Hopefully this heat wave breaks soon!!!

Happy Canada Day out there!! Hope everyone is enjoying the celebration of The beginning of this incredible country we live in!! As a certain virus has been keeping me close to home for some time now, as with all of us, and I have been getting the itch to hike again I have decided along with my good friend Gary Clayton to attempt a thru hike of the Ganaraska Trail here in Ontario. It runs around 500km from Port Hope on Lake Ontario to Glen Huron on the Niagara Escarpment. We started today and are enjoying the hot and humid weather of southern Ontario 😂.

After a long break from hiking to let my feet heal after my PCT hike, I finally got out for a hike along the winter wonderland of the Bruce Trail here in central Ontario. It didn’t disappoint, it was like walking through the Bing Crosby song. It’s was great to get out with fellow Thru Hiker and photographer Gary Clayton and enjoy this beauty so close to home.

With the cold and dreary pre-winter weather we are experiencing here in southern Ontario I am missing the almost five months of spring flowers I was blessed to walk through on the PCT. I have never before experienced so many beautiful flowers for such a extended period of time! So amazing!! 🇺🇸

Sometimes you get lucky with an amazing reflection like this one as the rain clouds parted just enough to let a splash of colour come through. Recently I was given the opportunity to test out a few filters from and have been really impressed by them! Super crisp images with no colour cast and I find them to be the easiest filters to keep clean that I have owned, which for me is very important as I am out in all weather with my gear.
