Grad season has been selectively quieter this year (Insert some very adult speech about work/work/life balance - and all that fun stuff.) But there is, and will always be, a huge part of me that loves my photography. Especially when I get to hang out with fun kids like this one.

I came home to first ensure there were no rattleticksnake bites, and then to immediately load these up - I just knew I needed to see how they turned out.

Did anyone else follow the story about Punch the Monkey? The little macaque that first was abandoned by his mother and then bullied by all the other adult monkeys at the Japan zoo...and his only friend was a stuffed monkey the zookeeper gave him?

Anyways, when I was editing this photo, I realized this little dude was probably thinking of Punch too.

Working on my last South Alberta Hockey Academy team gallery of the season, and feeling pretty grateful for the opportunities I have had this hockey season, not just with SAHA but ALL of the teams that brought me in this year. I will be going through some of my favourites from the season and adding them to my FB album once everyone's galleries have been delivered.

*Not so subtle reminder that you should download and back up your photos asap before they are gone*

Coaches, managers, parents: Thank you for letting me come experience some amazing hockey. I love that I get to spend time doing what I LOVE, while also watching these kids grow and develop as athletes. Thank you for every tag, every post, every recommendation as it helps to support my own athletes at home.

And to each of these players, my goal is for you to have memories of these years that will last a lifetime. That when you look back at that photo, you can remember what it felt like in that moment. And while I don't know a lot of you in person, you should know that I am cheering for each and every one of you...on and off the ice.

Why does it feel like August slipped away faster than an escaping toddler on a photoshoot?

As always, life is busy. So here is quick update:

*I have 3 spots available Saturday, August 28 and 2 spots Monday, September 1 for a 30-60 min session of your choice (family shoot, portrait session etc)

*I am hoping for some fall family mini sessions September 13 and/or October 5 depending on interest

*Once again, in order to maintain balance (*sanity*) I am taking a limited number of grads for the 2026 season, and spots are already filling up.

*Hockey/ringette season is gearing up - team managers/coaches interested in action shots, please consider contacting me when schedules are released to avoid availability limitations near the end of the season.

Somehow, I managed to find some time to get some -non action photos- of my own kid as she ends her softball season, and transitions right into dance!
