I’ve been spending a lot less time around people and more time chasing sunsets and blossoms so that’s what I’ll be sharing for the next little while. ⁣

This spot in Ivey Park blossomed in late May, and is only this pink for about 4-5days; then it’s GONE, for a whole year! 💔Nothing gold can stay. ✨⁣

has organized a PEACEFUL protest to take place in Victoria Park this Saturday June 6th at 3:00pm. Please visit their IG for advice on all the precautions you can take to protest safely, and for their fundraiser (link in their bio).

I urge you to show your support for London’s Black community and against police brutality in every way you can.

If you decide to attend please be mindful and respectful of others, and understand that it is a PEACEFUL protest, not a riot. Use this moment to connect yourself to the movement, not to cause a commotion.

Protesting is one way to show up, but not all of us will take that risk in the middle of a pandemic and I just want to remind you that there are so many things you can do right now to make a difference; start with one.

Pay attention. Watch and read the coverage; there is a lot happening so keep up. Understand that this is not about you, this is about systemic racism, police corruption, and a history of racial injustice most recently represented by the murders of Regis Korchinski-Paquet, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, all murdered by police and/or white supremacists who were NOT immediately held accountable for their crimes.

After you’ve acknowledged your disgust for the outright murders of innocent people caught on camera (and not) you must take action to bring change; Use your privilege to be heard; sign petitions, donate funds, make calls, and send emails; educate yourself, educate your family and friends; follow the movement and the activists who lead it (and keep following), UN-follow those who choose to do nothing; be aware of the content and messages you share.

Notice racism and call out racial bias, abuse of power and stand against it; Most importantly, raise the voices of those directly impacted by injustice; share the words and works of Black activists and content creators. Find ways to lift your LOCAL Black community, not just the stuff happening in the big cities.

Change cannot come soon enough, and it starts with us.

Crazy Talk is always mindful to invite a specialist that offers support during their events. Though some of the talks can be triggering, and make us vulnerable, these group grounding exercises help the guests level out, before leaving. ⁣
