From my rainy trip to Saskatchewan this last week. This beauty was near Kyle, Saskatchewan - north of Swift Current. He was in the mood to pose for me! I have never seen Saskatchewan so green - the entire province! Both the scenery and wildlife was nice to see.

I had been walking in Helen Schuler in the morning and stopped to talk the wonderful people at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre They asked if I had seen any fawns in the park. I said no. That afternoon I went again and low and behold, I found a mama whitetail and her beautiful fawn. Hard to see in the tall grass.

An adult Tree Swallow consumes about 2,000 insects per day, making them highly effective natural pest controllers for yards and wetlands. They hunt entirely on the fly, skimming just a few feet off the ground or water.

A "broomed" ram refers to a male sheep whose horn tips are broken off, splintered, or worn down.
Why Does It Happen? Fighting: Brooming is a natural result of adult rams repeatedly smashing their horns together during aggressive rutting battles. Wear and Tear: Older rams grind their horn tips down against rocks and the environment. Appearance: The ends look frayed and splintered, much like the bristles of an old broom.
Age Indicator: Because broomed rams have broken tips, the earliest growth rings (the first annulus) are often completely gone. This makes aging the sheep in the field much more challenging.

Mike Dimnik and his wife Michelle recently purchased my photo entitled 'Waterwood'. We are extremely pleased how well it turned out. This one printed 24x36 on Aluminum with John's homemade aluminum hanger. The colors are amazing. Nothing can ever compare with being there in person on a beautiful autumn morning and seeing these colors for yourself but this comes pretty darn close. Thanks Mike & Michelle for supporting us.
