From the moment I arrived at J & T’s wedding, it was clear this day was going to be something special. Every detail reflected their unique personalities and the love they share. J’s wedding dress wasn’t just stunningβ€”it was completely one of a kind. Paired with her embroidered shoes, she looked like she stepped straight out of a dream.

But what really made the day unforgettable were the personal touches woven into every moment. The music that played as she walked down the aisle? A Harry Potter-themed song that had everyone smiling. And let’s not forget the shot ski! (Trust me, you need to see the last slide for that epic moment.)

These two poured so much of themselves into their wedding, from the decorations to the laughter-filled moments shared with their guests. They weren’t just celebrating a marriageβ€”they were sharing who they are with everyone lucky enough to witness it.

J & T were also an absolute joy to photograph. Their easygoing energy and fun-loving nature made the day feel effortless. They reminded me why I love what I do so much: capturing raw, authentic moments for couples who are madly in love.

What’s my top tip for family photos?

✨Relax!✨

I know that sounds easier said than done, but it’s crucial. Mom and Dad’s energy sets the tone for the entire session. If you’re feeling stressed or upset, it can heighten the kids’ emotions and make the situation even more chaotic.

Instead, try to embrace the moment. Allow the kids to be themselvesβ€”let them play and express their personalities. This will not only make them more comfortable, but it will also lead to more genuine moments. I’ll be there to guide and capture the fun as it unfolds. Remember, those natural interactions often create the best and most candid memories!

Take me back to the warm summer nights, when the light hit just right. I had just finished a session and I thought β€œWhat if I just asked random strangers if they wanted to do a quick impromptu photo session?” It seemed bold, maybe even a little crazy. But I went for it.

These two said yes! Strangers who had no reason to trust me stepped in front of the lens, and magic happened. There was something raw and real about itβ€”their laughter, their surprise at themselves for saying yes. It reminded me how much excitement there is in being spontaneous, in letting go of plans and seeing where the moment takes you.

That’s what I love bringing to every session with my clients. Sure, we’ll get the posed shots, but it’s the unplanned moments, the ones you can’t script, that end up being the most meaningful. When you’re willing to step outside the comfort zone, to say yes to something unexpected, that’s where the magic lives.

So if you’re planning your wedding or engagement, don’t be afraid to leave a little room for spontaneity. Let’s capture the moments you didn’t even know were comingβ€”the ones that truly tell your story.

Trying to pick a photo to share from this gorgeous crowsnest pass wedding felt impossible. Their day was so beautiful and their love was even more captivating. It’s like they were two kids in a candy shop, wildly obsessed with each other. A love quite literally made to stand the test of time, that everyone dreams to find someday. I was really the lucky one who got to be witness to it.

So HI! If you’re new here I’m S A M 🌸🦩🍦

As I approach my two year photography birthday, I’ve been reflecting on this incredible journey with all of you. You’ve taught me so muchβ€”like how to truly be present and appreciate the little moments and really push my editing skills to the next level! (Guys! I learned how to face swap last night 😲).

The friendships I’ve built through photography mean everything to me. I’m so grateful you’ve let me capture your biggest milestones and those beautiful in-between moments that tell your unique stories. Honestly, finding the right words to express my gratitude feels impossible; it’s just so much more than I can say.

I’m beyond excited to keep this adventure going! Here’s to all the amazing moments we’ll share together over the next two, five, and even ten years. Let’s make some memories!

🌻 I often hear people say, β€œI don’t like photos,” β€œI’m awkward in front of the camera,” or β€œI don’t know how to pose.” But one of my favorite moments is showing them their photos after they’ve trusted me with a session. Watching their faces light up as they see their genuine smiles, the laughter, and the connection between the them.

During our session, I’ll guide you with fun prompts that bring out real emotion, making sure your smiles never feel forced. I’ll also help with little details like where to place your hands and how to position your body to keep things natural.

The photos are only part of the experienceβ€”the other half is all about the fun and memorable moments we create together, making it feel less like a session and more like an adventure.

I have learned love in a whole new capacity this past week as I watched my grandmother say goodbye to the love of her life for the past 60 years.

Tell people you love that you love them, hug them like you mean it. Remember how they felt in your arms. Memorize their smile. Record their laughter. Make time for them. Make memories together. Life is so fragile.
