If you’re spending these summer evenings anywhere other than a barn, I genuinely don’t know what to tell you…

Warm air, golden light, horses grazing, the occasional cloud of arena dust catching the sunset just right; some of the best moments of the year happen on evenings like these ☀️

As AI editing programs and photo apps become more popular, I wanted to make a small reminder regarding professional photography images 💛

Editing is a huge part of a photographer’s artwork and overall style, and every final gallery is intentionally edited to reflect that. Because of this, the vast majority of professional photographers - myself included - do have contract clauses in place regarding heavy alteration and AI modification of delivered images

I kindly ask that my images not be run through third party AI programs, or additional editing apps after delivery.

While I completely understand wanting fun holiday versions, birthday edits, seasonal graphics, and similar things.. and I’m always happy to help create those for clients! I’d much rather create something for you directly than have images altered through outside AI programs or apps 😊

This is not meant negatively whatsoever, just as a respectful reminder that editing is part of an artist’s finished work, and I truly appreciate those who respect and support that.

If your dog is part of the family, they deserve to be in the photos too! 🐾

Of course Sugar had to be part of this engagement session! The best photos tell your story, and for so many families, that story includes a four-legged family member

I’ve been photographing more dogs lately and absolutely loving it; whether they’re joining a family session, an equine session, or getting the spotlight all to themselves, there’s something special about capturing their personalities and the connection they share with the people who love them.

Dog-specific sessions have been on my mind for a while now, and this might just be the year I finally make them official

Stay tuned 🐾🖤

A little reminder that while horses make up the majority of what you see on this page, I do offer lifestyle sessions too!

Equine photography will always be my specialty, which is why most of my posts focus on my horse and rider sessions, but throughout the year I also photograph families, maternity sessions, couples, and engagements.

If you’ve only ever looked at my equine packages, you may not realize that I have a separate Lifestyle section on my website with pricing and information for those sessions as well.

I don’t always share every lifestyle session I photograph, so I thought it was worth the reminder that they’re still very much a part of what I offer!

One of my favorite families to photograph!! They are the sweetest 🥰

Okay, so funny story about this session - we had been trying since last fall to make it happen, but the weather and life just had not been in our favour at all 😂 Totally no one’s fault, these things happen

And the day before this photo was taken, it absolutely poured rain. I was convinced we’d be rescheduling again! If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m all about full sun and I looove a good sunflare. I am definitely not an overcast kind of photographer 😂

But somehow, when session day rolled around, we got lucky and ended up with the most beautiful weather. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better evening!

So all of that to say, sometimes things take a little longer than planned. Between busy schedules, unpredictable weather, and life doing its thing, not everything comes together on the timeline we’d like. But every now and then, everything finally falls into place, and you realize the extra patience was worth it. Sometimes the best sessions are the ones that take a little longer to get to 💖

A little something different from my usual posts 🐎

Most of the time, you’ll find me photographing quiet moments, connection, and portraits between horses and the people who love them. But every now and then, I get the chance to capture them doing what they love most too

There’s something special about freezing a split second of motion; the focus, the partnership, the trust, and all the little details that can be missed in real time

While riding photos aren’t something I photograph often, they tell a story all their own 🥰

To you, it’s just another year.

Another summer at the barn. Another show season. Another school year ending. Another chapter starting.

Maybe you’re graduating. Maybe you’re heading off to college. Maybe you’re getting your first job. Maybe you’re simply growing up faster than anyone realizes.

But to the people who love you, these aren’t just ordinary days; They’re the last years before everything changes.

The last seasons where your horse nickers when they see you coming down the aisle after school. The last summers spent riding every chance you get. The last moments of a chapter that feels endless while you’re living it, but somehow becomes a memory far too quickly

That’s what I love most about photographing horses and the people who love them… the photos aren’t really about the horse; they’re about who you were.

Your confidence. Your determination. Your favourite boots. The horse who helped shape you. The place that felt like home when nowhere else did

Years from now, these images won’t just remind you what your horse looked like, they’ll remind you of this version of yourself.
.and for the parents watching it all fly by a little too quickly, they’ll be a reminder of who their child was during the years that mattered most. 🖤

One day, these photos will mean more than “just prom pictures” or “just senior photos.” They’ll remind you of the horse that stood beside you through some of the biggest years of your life… the late nights at the barn, the tears, the ribbons, the laughter, and the version of yourself you’ll someday miss the most

For so many horse girls, their horse was there long before the cap and gown - part of the memories, the milestones, and the growing up in between.
And for parents, these are the moments you’ll look back on and realize how quickly it all changed.

And no.. it’s not too late to book your senior/grad or prom session with your horse 💖

⭐️ I’m offering 20% off all senior/grad and prom sessions booked for June & July! (excluding mini sessions)

Whether you want something dressy and elegant, fun and carefree, or simply true to who they are at the barn right now - these sessions are about preserving this chapter exactly as it feels 🖤

To you, it’s just another summer at the barn.

But one day, these will be the photos that bring you back to the years you’d give anything to relive: The late evenings after the heat finally breaks. The dusty boots tossed in the truck. The familiar sound of your horse nickering when they hear your voice. The rides, the routines, the little moments that feel so ordinary right now.

It’s easy to think of professional photos as an expense in the moment - until time passes and they become some of the most valuable things you own, because these sessions aren’t just about pretty photos… they’re about preserving a chapter of your life that won’t stay the same forever

Summer always seems endless while you’re in it, until suddenly it’s another season gone by. I still have a handful of June, July, August, and September dates available for anyone wanting to freeze a little piece of this chapter before it passes ☀️

A little before & after magic ✨

For this shot, mama was actually standing right in front of the pony helping hold her and feeding her carrots to keep her attention on me 😂 which honestly can make such a huge difference during sessions like this!

Especially with kids, or even just with horses and ponies that are a little more interested in grass than photos haha, having a helper step in for a few posed shots allows the rider to fully focus on me instead of worrying about keeping their horse standing still at the same time

And then of course, we balance that out with lots of natural candid moments too.. letting the horse graze, walk around, cuddle, play, and just interact naturally together 🥰

My sessions are always a mix of gently guided posing and real authentic moments, because both are important when telling the full story of you and your horse.
