On a little side trip, during a very special visit with two of my sisters; we stopped at the Baie du Dore, on Lake Huron. This Osprey put on quite a fishing display for us, then flew close enough to photograph. Nice catch. Great visit.

When my mom passed away, there were several rings that belong to my parents that went to their children. I was given a ring my mom had put on my dad‘s finger almost 72 years ago. There is evidence on the ring of a hard-working man. I didn’t want to damage the ring, but I wanted to be able to wear it as a necklace. I approached a good friend of mine and talented jeweler, Lise Pomeroy, and asked her if she would make the necklace I had in mind. The green stone on the front, represents the month of May in which they shared birthdays and an anniversary. On the back are my parents initials with a heart in the middle. A symbol of their love for each other. My father had beautiful handwriting, and Lise spent a great deal of time copying that script, and then engraving it onto the back of the necklace. I love the finished piece. Thank you Lise for all your hard work.

“Ready to Portage”. Local driftwood, a recycled copper wire tree, fish cut from reused aluminum cans , clay canoes and crashing resin waves, bring back memories of summer on the Great Lakes.
