Kemptville Welcomes Top Mixed Doubles Curlers for Fall Classic
KEMPTVILLE, ON — The ice is ready and an exciting weekend of competitive curling is underway as the 2026 Kemptville Mixed Doubles Fall Classic Presented by DennIce takes over the North Grenville Curling Club from October 2–4.
The event features 20 mixed doubles teams competing across five sheets of arena ice, with teams divided into four pools of five. Preliminary-round action began Friday morning at 8:30 a.m., setting the stage for a full weekend of fast-paced mixed doubles curling.
The Fall Classic is part of the Ontario Mixed Doubles Curling Tour, which has grown from just 16 teams when it began in 2016 to a province-wide competitive circuit featuring nearly 100 unique teams each season. Teams earn points throughout the tour as they work toward the season-ending Tour Championship.
This weekend's field brings curlers from communities across Ontario to Kemptville, providing local curling fans with an opportunity to see high-level mixed doubles competition right in their own backyard. The event also continues to showcase the North Grenville Curling Club and the Kemptville community as a destination for competitive curling.
Last year's championship was captured by Terri Weeks and Sam Steep of Kitchener, who defeated Neil/McDonald 7–3 in the 2025 final.
With plenty of curling still ahead, spectators are encouraged to stop by the North Grenville Curling Club throughout the weekend, cheer on the competitors and experience the strategy, shot-making and energy that have made mixed doubles one of curling's most entertaining disciplines.
Come out, fill the club and enjoy a great weekend of curling in Kemptville!
