I think it’s often assumed that I embody the confidence I seemingly exude in my images.

I wish that were true.

I use self portraiture to express myself to myself. Sometimes, I’m expressing sensuality, affection, joy, love, desire, and self care. Other times, I’m expressing a vision of who I want to be.

Showing up in front of the camera, on my good days and my bad, is a small affirmation that all parts of me are worthy.

I don’t post my face all that often, especially not photos where I am looking at the camera. My comfort has always been in full body expressions of myself. As I age and my face changes, I know that discomfort is at risk of increasing. I don’t want to fear my own face. I don’t want to hide behind FaceTune and heavy filters. So here’s some close ups of just my face :)
