With just ONE WEEK to go until our fourth annual Fabulous Over 40 – Wings of Wisdom Gala, I couldn’t be more excited to welcome back the beautiful and inspiring Journey Henkart as our co-emcee! 💖

✨Journey is a woman of many talents! An accomplished author, coach, speaker, networking facilitator, world traveller, wife, and proud mom to three beautiful humans!

✨Her incredible journey has taken her onto stages alongside renowned thought leaders including Lisa Nichols, Robin Sharma, Jack Canfield, and John Maxwell.

✨Her book, originally published by Putnam, has received endorsements from Deepak Chopra, Stephen Covey, and Oprah Winfrey!

✨I first met Journey at a private networking event she hosted in her home, and little did I know that years later, we’d be sharing the stage celebrating extraordinary women together!

✨ This marks our FOURTH year together, and I am so grateful for the warmth, wisdom, enthusiasm, and beautiful energy Journey brings to our Fabulous Over 40 community. She has such a wonderful gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel welcome.

Dhorea is an award-winning community leader, motivational speaker, best-selling author, and passionate mental health advocate whose work is rooted in resilience, healing, and creating meaningful change.

A co-founder of National Su***de Awareness Day, Dhorea is also the founder of Hemi’s Holistic Healing Centre Society and Micro Mental Health Moments™.

Her remarkable journey includes community-based homelessness and housing research with UBC Okanagan, national entrepreneurship facilitation with RISE, and published research in the Journal of Dental Education.

At the heart of her message is a powerful reminder: Our hardest chapters do not define us. They can become the very foundation from which we rise and inspire others. 🦋

The Harvest Moon… she gathers it. 🌕✨

To honour what we’ve grown.
To release what we’ve outgrown.
And to celebrate the woman we have become.

A woman doesn’t lose her magic as she gets older.
She gathers it.

More wisdom.
More stories.
More knowing.
More courage to stand fully in who she is.

There is something beautiful about this season of life—the realization that we don’t need to become who we once were. We get to honour who we are now.

The wild one. The wise one. The sensual one. The woman who has walked through seasons of change, gathered the lessons, and is still here—glowing in her own light.

This is what I love about photographing women. Creating a space for you to see yourself not younger, not perfected, but powerful, beautiful and fully alive exactly where you are.

And what better way to celebrate that than together. 🪽

Joyful Rebellion. ✨

What does that look like?

For me, it looks like laughter. Playfulness. Creativity. A little wildness. And giving myself permission to express more of who I already am.

As I’ve been writing my upcoming book, The Joyful Rebellion, I wanted photographs that reflected this chapter of my life—not simply how I look, but how I feel.

Radiant. Feminine. Playful. Free. Fully alive.

Together, we created a visual story around that feeling.

Because there really is no age limit on discovering more of yourself.

Write the book.
Start something new.
Change direction.
Take up space.
Wear the pink glasses.
Laugh loudly.
Let yourself be seen.

This isn’t about trying to look younger.

It’s about living more fully as the woman you are now.

And that is also why this story feels so beautifully connected to Karen’s Fabulous Over 40 experience.

As I prepare to celebrate 30 extraordinary women at the Wings of Wisdom Gala on October 25, we’re reminded that there isn’t one way to be a woman over 40.

✨There is something incredibly special about photographing a mother and her daughter.💗

✨A little while ago, Mom stepped into my Fabulous Over 40 experience. Like so many women, she spent years putting everyone else first. During her session, she shared something that had been on her heart for a long time…

“I’ve always wanted to do a photo shoot with my daughter.”

So we made it happen.!

✨Watching them laugh, hold hands, pick wildflowers, and simply enjoy being together was a beautiful reminder that photographs aren’t just about how we look. They’re about preserving the love between us—the little glances, the shared smiles, the quiet moments that become priceless as the years pass.

✨One day, these images won’t just be photographs. They’ll be treasured memories. A reminder of this season of life, of a mother’s love, and of the bond they share.

This is why I love what I do.❤️

Because confidence is powerful…
But legacy is even more beautiful.
