In the tranquil embrace of the West Coast's Vancouver Island lies the Broken Island Group, a collection of rugged isles cradled by the Pacific Ocean. Against this backdrop of untamed beauty, a magnificent spectacle unfolds in the early morning sky—a radiant orange sunrise, its brilliance piercing through the lingering mist and rain.
After three days of relentless downpour, nature unveils its splendour in a breathtaking display of colour and light. The horizon ignites with hues of amber and gold, casting a warm, ethereal glow over the land and sea below. The silhouettes of jagged rock, shore birds and ancient forests are bathed in this radiance.
As the first light of day washes over the Broken Island Group, it marks not only the beginning of a new day but also the end of a photographic journey. This image is a composite of 2 shots from the same spot. Shot 1 the foreground and trees with a 3 min exposure to get the water to turn to silk, but in creating that effect the clouds moving by in that amount of time made the whole sky grey and dull, shot 2 the same scene capturing the clouds in place and then I layered the two images in post.

Moraine Lake located in the Alberta Rocky Mountains, part of the beautiful fabric of the Canadian landscape. This amazing glacier fed lake holds some of the prettiest blues I have ever seen, it is truly a wonder to see.
