HAPPY FRIDAY GUYS!

The first month was quiet.

Building the website. Figuring out the business. Creating all the little pieces behind the scenes.

Now I’m stepping into month two, putting myself out there, meeting people, making connections, and finally doing more of what I came here to do: make photographs.

It feels a little like starting over. And honestly, I kind of love that.

This is Julia.

Lately, life has looked a little different.

I’ve traded a structured corporate calendar for one that’s entirely my own. Some days, that means long walks with my dog, an afternoon on the golf course, or simply being more present with my family. Other days, it means learning the parts of business no one really talks about: building a website, creating my brand, managing the admin, and slowly turning a dream into something real.

This season has taught me that building a business isn’t just about the work you do - it’s about building a life that reflects what matters most to you.

New chapters are often both exciting and a little scary. There are moments when you feel completely confident, and others when you’re simply figuring it out one step at a time.

I’m choosing to embrace both.

One summer. A lifetime of memories.

Four years ago today, our little Westie, Maisy, came home with us. Little did we know it would be the only summer we’d spend together.

Losing her at such a young age was heartbreaking. Our girls missed her deeply, and it took us a long time to heal before we were ready to welcome our Shiba, Piper, into our family.

Facebook brought these photos back today, and they reminded me why photographs matter so much. They become pieces of the people—and pets—we never stop loving.

We still miss you, Maisy. 🤍🕊️
