Looking ahead, I feel pulled even deeper into what matters most

emotion, presence, and honest storytelling.

Less perfection, more truth. Less posing, more feeling.

My hope for this season is to create images that don’t just look beautiful, but hold something.
The kind you come back to years later and feel all over again. The quiet, the chaos, the connection in between.

same moment,
two stories.

the wide frame holds the memory.
the room, the people, the energy,
the way everyone leaned in to witness it.
it gives context…
it reminds you where you were,
what it looked like,
how it all unfolded.

but the tighter crop,
that one holds the feeling.

it quiets everything else
so you can step inside the moment,
not just look at it.

one lets you remember,
the other lets you feel.

and neither is better,
they just speak differently.

one tells the story out loud,
the other whispers it back to you.

this is why both matter.

First wedding of the season 🤍

I won’t lie… leaving my 10-week-old had me all in my feelings. The nerves, the mom guilt, all of it. But stepping back into what I love reminded me that both can exist at the same time.

The sweetest, most down-to-earth bride and groom made it that much easier.

It felt really, really good to be back 🫶

Wymbolwood 2025 🤍

As shared in my previous post, this is an example of how my family sessions will look going forward in 2027.

This is where my heart is.
This is what I want to remember.

So how do we create photographs like this?

Space.
Time.
Play.

Entering a child’s world , rather than directing it, brings a depth you can’t manufacture.

These images don’t come from cramming meaning into a 30-minute window.
They don’t come from stressed parents, rushed timelines, or asking children to perform.

They come when everything quiets.

When there is room to breathe.
When play is uninterrupted.
When children are free to be exactly who they are , and we simply witness it.

That’s where the story lives.

Business Update | Moving Into the New Season

As I step into this new year, I want to share some important changes for my business moving forward 🤍

First and foremost — I am currently on maternity leave and not taking on any sessions at this time.

For 2026, my calendar is intentionally very limited. I am fully booked with the weddings I have already committed to. In addition to welcoming our newest member, we are also stepping into a new chapter — my husband will be away for OPP training from March through November, which means I’ll be navigating this season solo with my kids. Because of that, my primary role this year is being present at home, and my business will reflect that priority.

If I do feel up to offering sessions throughout the year, I will post specific dates I’d like to fill, and those will be booked at my discretion — not months in advance.

What I’m focusing on in 2026

• The weddings I already have booked
• Mentorship calls & in-person meet-ups for photographers

Looking Ahead to 2027

Branding Sessions

Simple Branding

This session takes place right in your workspace. I’ll come to you and capture:
• Relaxed, natural headshots in your own environment
• Candid images of you working, just being you

Perfect if you’re looking for updated photos that feel easy and authentic.

Complete Branding

A more in-depth session with room to really show personality. I’ll bring backdrops, and we’ll spend time creating:
• Personality-filled headshots with more variety
• A larger set of candid, behind-the-scenes images of you at work

Ideal for those wanting a fuller, more versatile branding gallery.

Branding Photo Updates Moving Forward

After your first paid session, any additional updated imagery will be offered on a service-for-service trade basis, when it’s a service I’m genuinely interested in or can gift. Trades must be of equal value to the work provided and are offered at my discretion.

⸻

Additional Updates

• Mini sessions will still be offered and are a great way for families to work with me on a smaller scale or stay connected year to year
• Regular sessions will take on a highly collaborative, story-driven approach

• Family sessions will become very intentional and limited, with only a small number of families accepted each year for a year-long storytelling experience

Families investing in this experience will be documented throughout the year, with monthly payment options, and will receive a custom scrapbook at the end of the year that tells the story of their season together.

For families not part of the year-long experience, mini sessions will be the primary way to book family photos.

⸻

This shift is about slowing down, going deeper, and creating work that truly reflects the heart behind why I do this.

Wedding Package Update

As my business continues to grow and evolve, I’ve made the decision to no longer include complimentary engagement sessions within my wedding packages. With many of my couples booking from outside my local area, the logistics have become more complex, often requiring adjustments to pricing or additional hours when sessions weren’t used. This change allows me to serve each couple more sustainably and with greater intention.

Moving forward, weddings will be my primary service and creative focus. Pouring my energy into wedding storytelling allows me to show up fully present, grounded, and aligned with the work God has placed on my heart in this season.

Thank you so much for your understanding, your continued support, and for allowing my business to grow alongside my life. I’m deeply grateful 🤍

Stepping into my annual social media fast from Nov 24 until the New Year

and this year, it feels especially intentional.

With baby arriving at the end of December, I want to slow down, prepare for birth, and step into this next season anchored in God’s presence instead of the noise online.

This season has a way of grounding me and drawing my focus back to what holds eternal weight. As I step into these next weeks, I’m choosing to be still, to treasure the closing moments of pregnancy, to welcome the shift into newborn life, and to give my heart fully to the things God has entrusted to me... My family and my faith.

Otherwise, I’ll see you in 2026 with a quieter mind, a fuller heart, and a brand new little blessing in my arms. 🤍

✨ Maternity Leave Announcement ✨

As I step into this next beautiful season, I’ll be taking some time away to focus on my family and welcome our newest little love❤️

I don’t have a set date for when I’ll begin taking on new sessions, as this coming year will be devoted to soaking in family life and serving my already-booked couples with the utmost care and creativity.

My 2026 wedding calendar is officially full, and I’ll be opening bookings for 2027 weddings in January.

Moving forward, I’ll be niching down to focus on weddings and a limited number of intensive, documentary-style sessions. offering fewer spots so I can pour deeply into each story I capture.

In the new year, I’ll be sharing more details on how I’ll be moving forward with regular sessions and my updated service offerings. everything will be explained then.

Thank you all for your incredible support, love, and trust. Every message, referral, and story shared means the world to me. I’m so grateful for this community and can’t wait for what’s ahead both behind the lens and in this next chapter of life.
With love and gratitude,
Kirsten Rae 🤍

I would LOVE to recommend so many other photographers servicing the Iroquois Falls area that would be able to capture your story and special milestones.
