I still remember meeting Hazel and Dian for their engagement session back in 2024 ✨ They were such an incredible couple from the very beginning, and yet they admitted to me that being in front of the camera wasn’t something they felt particularly comfortable with.
It didn’t take long for that to disappear.
Once they were together, everything felt easy. They have this wonderful way of feeding off each other’s energy — supporting each other, making each other laugh, and simply enjoying being together. It came through in every photograph, and by the end of their session, I think they surprised themselves with just how naturally they photographed.
So being able to photograph them again two years later felt incredibly special.
Not only because I already knew how beautifully they connected in front of my camera, but because I got to see how much their relationship had grown in those two years. There was an even deeper familiarity between them, that effortless understanding you can’t pose or direct 🥹
And at Urth Ranch in Canal Flats, with the white harvest barn, endless acreage, horses, Galloway cows and the Rockies all around us, they looked completely at home in the setting.
Elegant, effortless, and still very much Hazel and Dian.
I’m so grateful I got to photograph them in that first chapter — and even more grateful that I got to come back for this one🤍
