The Vogels, from France 🤎
Social media really is crazy! My Instagram friend Annah Thompson | western photographer referred Emanuelle and her family to me for some family photos while they were visiting Alberta! Yah… my insta friend from France, that’s a crazy sentence lol. But how freaking cool?!
The Vogels primarily speak French, but Emanuelle was able to understand my posing prompts and then translate them into French for her family. We only had to pull out Google Translate a couple times! I’ve never photographed a family where English wasn’t their primary language, and honestly, it was such a fun little challenge!
It was also such a beautiful reminder that love, connection, and all those little in between moments don’t need a shared language to be captured! 🤎
Sometimes I have to stop and think about how crazy social media actually is. A photographer I’ve never met in person, who lives on the other side of the world, referred a family to me… and then that family ended up standing in front of my camera here in Alberta. It genuinely doesn’t feel real. ✨
Photography has connected me with people I never would have crossed paths with otherwise, and I think that’s one of the coolest parts of this job. 🤎
