Partial Lunar Eclipse - August 27, 2026
Perfect conditions last night to watch earths shadow slowly cover 96% of the full moon! Hopefully you got to see it 🌖

The view from the campground was perfect, there was no wind, the lake was still and while the moon got covered the Milky Way and stars were shining bright over the hills across the lake.

Pretty cool to capture a “mostly covered” full moon with the Milky Way together in one shot. As the moon was uncovered, the stars slowly faded into the bright moon lit night.. a great night to be out!

International Dark Sky Week ✨💫 a time to appreciate the night sky, take time to get lost in the stars and learn about how and why it’s changing.

Chasing the northern lights for the past 10 years has taught me that the night is changing.. fast. It’s getting harder to find dark sky due to light pollution and when you do, with the sudden increase in satellites the view is changing. I’ve also realized how important the night is not just for humans, for so many things on earth. The night needs a voice and it needs to be protected.

Hopefully you can take time to head out to a dark location, look up and just let the night sky amaze you. It really does something special ⭐️

It finally stopped snowing for a minute and the skies opened up last night to reveal the beautiful Northern Lights after missing the last few nights of strong Aurora activity it was nice to finally see part of the show! ✨💫

There’s no place like home ✨ Enjoying a beautiful night of crystal clear skies, enchanting Aurora and the last of winters cold grip!

I love travelling to the epic landscapes of the world and seeing how the night looks and feels different. However there is no better feeling then enjoying this view right from home. It’s the reason why I got into this over a decade ago.. it’s where my journey all began and I’m proud of living in a rural and remote corner of Saskatchewan where the air is clean, the skies are dark and the aurora just adds to the unexpected beauty of it all 💙💚

Magical Moonlight 🌖 the northern lights put on a beautiful show for us as we sailed past the beautiful mountains near Skjervøy, Norway. The way the moon lights up the snowy mountains is so magical and with the aurora dancing overhead it was incredible!

The beauty of the Norwegian coastline is surreal. Snow covered mountains, small fishing village ports, great people and truly unbelievable scenery. The Hurtigruten is a blend of ferry service and tourism that has serviced the area for over 130 years! It sails close to the coastline, under bridges, through sounds and into fjords that no big ships can get into. It makes for such a special experience! The views of the northern lights are just a lovely added bonus!

Last night in Lofoton 🇳🇴 was pretty epic! We were treated to the most incredible display of Northern lights in one of the most beautiful areas of the world!! Such an exciting night for everyone on board! The show kept going, dancing fast & exploding at moments filling the sky right until midnight as we sailed away from Lofoton.
Absolutely incredible 💫🌟
