I keep thinking about how fast life moves..
how the little in between moments are the ones that end up meaning the most.

the quiet laughs, the way someone looks at you when you’re not paying attention, the kind of love that doesn’t need to be loud to be felt.

that’s what i want these to be.

these minis aren’t about perfect outfits or knowing how to pose.
they’re about coming as you are, standing a little closer, holding on a little longer and letting me freeze something real for you… something you’ll look back on and feel.

I offer these pay what you can sessions because I don’t think moments like this should feel out of reach.
I just want you to have them. truly.

soft light, open fields, a little bit of wind,
and the kind of photos that feel like a memory the second they’re taken.

June 13 & 14 at Arbutus Meadows Farm in Nanoose Bay
20 minute sessions, 15+ images delivered via an online gallery
$30 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot.

there’s only a handful of these but I would love nothing more than to have you in front of my camera!

message me if it feels like you 🤎

Hi everyone 🤎

This might be a bit of a different ask, but I wanted to put it out there in the most genuine way I can.

I’m a local photographer and I’m planning to host a “pay what you can” western style mini session for the weekend of May 16 & 17.

This is something really close to my heart- creating a space that feels inclusive, creative, and rooted in that western, outdoorsy lifestyle so many of us love here.

I’m currently looking for a field, farm, or property with horses/cattle or a western feel that I could host these sessions on.

I would treat the space with complete respect, keep things low impact, and I’d absolutely be happy to:
- Share photos for your own use
- Promote your property/business
- Work out a rental or trade that feels fair 🤍

If you or someone you know might be open to something like this, I would be so grateful to connect.

Thank you so much for reading!

She’s the kind of cowgirl you don’t forget, and not because she tries to be unforgettable, but because she loves in a way that stays with you. Fully. Honestly. Without holding back.

She walks through life with her whole heart leading the way, boots planted in who she is even on the days she doubts herself. Loud laughter, deep feelings, arms always open - she takes up space with warmth, not ego, and gives more of herself than she ever asks for in return.

With Georgia at her side and Finn never far behind, you see the truest parts of her. The gentleness. The patience. The quiet understanding that doesn’t need words. They know her heart; the soft one, the loyal one, the one that keeps showing up even when it questions its own worth. And they choose her every time.

She carries a kind of strength that doesn’t announce itself. A softness that is powerful. A heart of gold that feels things deeply and loves fiercely, even when it would be easier not to. She’s the girl who laughs until it hurts, loves without limits, and still wonders if she’s doing enough- without realizing that she already is.

This wasn’t just a western shoot. It was a glimpse into a life lived honestly. One rooted in loyalty, open skies, muddy boots, and a spirit that feels most at home where love is simple and real. It’s a reminder that the people who doubt themselves the most are often the ones who shine the brightest without even trying.

She is spectacular in both the loud moments and the quiet ones. Deeply loved, wildly kind, and entirely herself.. even on the days she forgets just how special that is. And this, right here, is proof of a heart that was always enough. 🤍

Some love stories don’t ask for attention.. they simply glow- quietly, steadily, like Christmas lights left on after midnight.

There’s something about Jessica & Will that feels like the kind of Christmas memory you don’t just remember, you carry it. The kind that settles into your heart the way snowfall settles onto pine branches. Gently, intentionally, beautifully.

Watching them together is like watching two people who have learned that love isn’t always made of big, sweeping moments. Sometimes it’s found in the way her hand fits effortlessly against his cheek.. the way his smile softens only for her, the way their laughter loops and lingers in the warm glow of the tree. It’s in the tiny things that most people overlook- but these two surely don’t. They hold onto those pieces the way you’d hold onto a treasured ornament from childhood, careful and grateful all at once.

There’s such a nostalgia to the way they love. Something reminiscent of cozy winters where the world felt simpler- where the best memories were made in dim, golden rooms with cracked windows, foggy glass, and a tree glowing in the corner. Their love carries that same warmth, that same sense of “home,” even when the world outside is cold and rushing.

In these photos, you can almost hear the soft rustle of Christmas branches, feel the hush of December nights, and sense the way their hearts settle into one another- like they’ve been choosing each other for a thousand lifetimes. There’s a tenderness between them that feels timeless, like a story written in the margins of an old holiday book.. one filled with candlelight, promises, and the kind of laughter that only happens when you’re with the person who makes your world feel safe.

Here’s to Jessica & Will-
To love that glows even in the quiet moments.
To laughter shared beneath twinkling lights.
To the soft kind of magic that doesn’t need to announce itself because it simply is.
And to the kind of Christmas love that reminds us that some people are not just a chapter in our story.. they are the whole, well-worn, well-loved book.

✨ There’s a certain kind of magic that only appears this time of year…
A magic that hangs gently in the air like snowflakes waiting to fall, glowing softly in the lights of a Christmas tree and echoing quietly in the giggles of little ones who still believe with their whole hearts.

In these moments- these unposed, unguarded, beautifully honest moments- I’m reminded why I do what I do.
Because Christmas isn’t just red bows and frosted branches…
It’s the way a child leans into their mama’s laughter.
It’s tiny fingers gripping a snow globe like it’s the whole world in their hands.
It’s the peaceful stillness between two people who love each other more than any gift under the tree could ever hold.

It’s connection.
It’s belonging.
It’s the kind of joy that settles deep in your chest and whispers, “This… this is what matters.”

Every year, Christmas invites us to slow down- to breathe in the pine and the peppermint, to feel the softness of old traditions, and to rediscover wonder in the tiniest, sweetest places.
And behind my lens, I get to witness the purest form of it… families wrapped in warmth, children lighting up like the star on top of the tree, and parents holding onto moments that time tries so hard to rush past.

At Hey Y’all Photography, this is the heart of what we do: capturing love the way it naturally unfolds- tender, joyful, imperfect, and absolutely extraordinary.
We believe in empowering people to see themselves with kindness, to embrace the beauty in their own stories, and to feel loved in the way they’re meant to be… fully, warmly, and without hesitation.

So here’s to Christmas magic- the kind you don’t just see, but feel.
The kind found in a quiet room lit by tree lights, in a shared smile between mother and child, and in the tiny spark of wonder that reminds us that this world is still full of goodness.

May these photos be a small window into that magic- a gentle reminder that the best gifts of the season are the hearts we hold close. 🎄✨❤️

Once upon a December night, when the house was quiet and the tree glowed like a dream, a little girl discovered Christmas.

Not through words - she doesn’t need them yet - but through wonder.

To her, Christmas is made of touch and glow and softness.
It is the warm wool of sweaters brushing against her cheeks,
the steady heartbeat beneath her ear when she’s held close,
the way lights dance like tiny stars she can almost reach.
She looks up, wide-eyed, and the whole season becomes new again.

She holds a snow globe with both small hands, as though it’s the first magic she has ever touched - tiny houses, tiny people, snow forever falling.
She shakes it and gasps, as if she has discovered winter herself.

These are the moments she won’t remember in words, but will keep forever in her bones.
The feeling of being carried through Christmas like a secret.
The scent of pine settling into her hair.
The quiet glow of ornaments and golden corners, where love lives soft and unspoken.

This is the nostalgia we chase - not the years behind us, but the innocence before us.
A childhood Christmas, unbroken, unhurried, new every time she blinks.

In her eyes, the world is gentle.
In her hands, magic is small enough to hold.
And in these moments, she is teaching us - that Christmas is not loud or grand, but tender, gold, evergreen.

May she grow up remembering the light she saw first at one year old - how the world shimmered without needing to make a sound.
And may we carry that same wonder with us, like a candle that never burns out, through every winter to come. ❤️✨

Some places feel like they were written long before you ever stepped into them - pastures stitched together with quiet memories, fence posts leaning like elders telling stories, barns breathing out the sweet perfume of dust and wood and decades. It’s the kind of land that carries the warmth of every summer that ever passed through it, the kind of place that still remembers the sound of your grandmother’s voice when she called the cattle in at dusk.

That’s the land she walked into.

She moved through the field like the earth already knew her footsteps, as if the grass had been waiting all morning to brush against her boots. The horse at her side leaned gently into her - steady, trusting, unhurried - like two souls cut from the same country fabric. And there was something in the way she touched him… soft, reverent, almost ancient, as though she’d learned tenderness from the land itself.

The barns in the distance stood proudly weathered, their boards sun-bleached and honest. Cows grazed in slow motion across the pasture, water pooled in the low spots like mirrors for the sky, and every breeze carried the scent of rain clinging to old soil. The whole scene felt like a film reel from a Western that had never been made - but should’ve been. The kind where the beauty isn’t loud; it lingers. It hums.

She didn’t pose. She simply existed.
And somehow that was enough to turn the whole countryside into poetry.

Her hat tipped low, the wind tugging at her hair, her smile quiet and knowing - she looked like a woman carved out of earth and story. A girl who belonged to wide-open spaces, to the hush of morning fields, to the gentle rhythm of hooves and hearts. There was a wildness in her, yes, but also a softness - like she’d learned long ago that strength doesn’t have to shout.

Watching her, I realized that some people don’t just stand in the landscape… they become part of it. The land wraps around them, not as a backdrop, but as a companion. It’s as if the earth itself rises to meet them, recognizing one of its own.

I left that pasture with the kind of fullness that only comes from witnessing something true.

Because some shoots aren’t just images - they’re chapters. 🌾

The moment you start acting like life is a blessing, it starts to feel like one.

Some days, that’s easier said than done. We get caught in the rush- always reaching for the next thing, waiting for life to finally slow down and feel good again. But maybe the secret isn’t in waiting. Maybe it’s in noticing.

The quiet sound of the rain against the window.
The way your morning coffee smells when the world is still half asleep.
The people who love you in quiet ways- not loudly, but surely.

Maybe it’s in learning to see life through softer eyes. The way your grandma always did- gentle, steady, grateful for what was right in front of her. She didn’t need grand things to feel full; she just looked around and said, “Isn’t it all something?”

And maybe that’s the point.
The moment you start treating your days like they’re already enough, they start to feel that way. You start to breathe easier. You start to see the beauty you’ve been standing in all along.

Because life - even with its cracks and chaos - really is a blessing.
You just have to live like it.
