When I posted the eerie image of the old Guyitt home it got quite a lot of comments. Most of us in the area, especially photographers, have a history of the old house in its dilapidated state but what struck me was when one of my followers gave a more nostalgic and intimate knowledge of the home. The house was Anne Andersons Great Grandparents home and she shared some of her memories of it. So I would like to share that here along with another image of the home.

"it was pretty quiet when gGrandpa and Uncle Earl lived there. We would go at Christmas and I remember the circle drive in front with old tall pines. Pear trees in back, currants, and Gramma would take us there to get currants to make pie. I don't remember being upstairs in it. The auction after Uncle died. The pianos there. All faded memories. I was told they were the first to get a TV so weekly filled with neighbors coming to watch the hockey game. GGrandpa played fiddle, Uncle Earl played drums and guitar, and Gramma played piano at all the country dances -- as a trio. Gramma played piano just like in a saloon!
There were many Guyitts in the area, all family, and they would help each other with farming, esp at harvest. The thrashing machine would come around and do all the area thrashing. They'd go cool off at the lake."

I think this memory will evoke a whole new imagery to the house. It's almost after all the "if those walls could talk" comments over the years get a little bit louder.

I was chatting with Roy Fields last night and he was contemplating getting some advertising put on the side of his combine with all the extra exposure I was getting him with my photography.

That got me to thinking, maybe not a bad idea for some of our farmers to get some advertising on the backs of the slow moving farm machinery.
Help the people that get stuck behind them for a few minutes.

Anyone got any advertising partners they want to add? 😂

New Holland CR11
Chris Malott Farms

Some images of the largest combine harvester in the world devouring a Soya bean field.

By the time I had my drone set up and could start to see through the dust this beast was throwing up, there wasn't much left of the field. Incredible how quickly this machine was going and the grain capacity on board. 567 bushels (20,000l) and can empty in 100 seconds. Truly staggering.

New Holland CR11

When driving home from work yesterday I was stopped in my tracks when I caught this absolute beast taking Soya Beans off.

The largest combine in the world a New Holland CR11 with a 61' header ( I believe).

I thought it was someone else but it turns out to be Chris Malott Farms.

I have photos to take off the drone and edit but here is a little video for now.
