Can you see it?

My longest standing inspiration is the photographers of National Geographic Magazine. We had a subscription when I was a kid. Then I would flip through the pages and see an incredible world far beyond the dairy farm in southwestern Ontario where I lived.
Still a subscriber, my main reading interest is exploring how the photographer tells a story through a small collection of images. It’s not just a portrait. There’s a scene, action, and detail.

I like to think that when you work with me, your large collection of images will look more like a NatGeo telling of your life than say, Vogue.

Real life with a baby, a kindergartener, and a turtle.

I’m continuing to share images from sessions that respect the privacy of my clients, without revealing too much of a child’s face or their home environment. My project has come to an end. It has been such a meaningful project for me. I am closer to my surrounding community because of it. The conversations I had with strangers and participants during take down day have been so lovely. I’m glad that this impromptu pandemic 100 day photo project that required me to talk to strangers turned into a grant application, and the a five year art installation.
Thanks to everyone who participated and all the kind words along the way.
Thanks to Hamilton city Placemakers grant program for funding the project.
It’s been so fulfilling!
