Three years ago today, we were in New Plymouth, North Island, New Zealand.

Using an app called TPE (The Photographer’s Ephemeris) I was able to find a great location to capture the evening and setting sun over Mount Taranaki.

These were three of my favourite images from that day.

I love this time of year. Leaves start to turn in colour and colourful fungi rise from the decay.

All of these were in our garden. Brookside, Nova Scotia.

I spent a couple of hours, going through the images from 16th September and have produced what I consider are some satisfactory results.

The intent was to capture images of the Milky Way over the Atlantic at the mouth of Shad Bay, Nova Scotia.

I used two tripod mounted cameras: Nikon D750 with a 14mm Samyang lens and a Nikon Z5 with a Nikkor 24-120mm lens.
All images of the Milky way are around a 20 - 25 second exposure with an ISO of 4,000.

Minimal editing was needed, other than to remove satellite trails and boost the shadows and contrast slightly. The last two images show the setting moon on the horizon.

These images are taken from the Dr. Bill Freedman Nature Reserve on the High Head Trail, Prospect, N.S.

In particular, I like how the light from the Milky Way is reflected on the surface of the Atlantic Ocean. I also like the solitary tree set against the night sky.
