What a lovely surprise it was to see Momma Tik-Tak bring her tiny little twins to meet me. They look like they are about 5-6 weeks old. Tik-Tak is named such due to her dance like movements when eating. She has been ravenous of late, obviously due to her feeding the babies.

Oh what an unforgettable adventure we had yesterday. We finally broke free from the whirlwind of everyday commitments and set off on a thrilling two-hour drive north to the breathtaking Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve—a true wild paradise that had been calling our names for far too long!

The road was pure magic: almost no traffic, just us, the open highway, and endless winter wonderland stretching out ahead. This year’s snow has been generous beyond belief—the trees stood draped in pristine white, every branch and needle sparkling like they’d been dusted with the finest icing sugar by some mischievous winter fairy. It felt like driving straight into a living Christmas card!

We stepped into the realm of the Haliburton Forest Wolf Centre, where a magnificent pack of resident Grey Wolves (those majestic timber wolves!) roam in a strictly wild, enormous enclosure with almost zero human interference. My heart raced as we spotted all five of them—strong, graceful, powerful, moving through the snow with that quiet, untamed confidence only true wild wolves carry.
The alpha female? She’s glowing—pregnant and radiant, with the precious pups expected to arrive in May!
