Neidin and James' Pearle Hotel wedding was especially meaningful to me because it continued a relationship with their family that had begun many years earlier.
I first met Neidin at her sister Claire and Gary's wedding. Since then, I've photographed their family sessions, growing families, important milestones, and many other memories.
When Neidin contacted me almost three years before her wedding, I was incredibly excited to photograph her wedding day finally.
Their day took us from The Pearle Hotel & Spa to St. Andrew Church in Oakville, the Oakville waterfront, Erchless Estate, the Oakville Lighthouse, and back to The Pearle for their reception.
With 13 hours of coverage and no second photographer, I documented their wedding using a combination of documentary photography, creative portraits, available light, and off-camera lighting.
There were plenty of unexpected challenges along the way, including crowds at the lighthouse, a busy festival around Burlington, limited time with their Rolls-Royce, and even a surprise 12-foot ladder that helped me photograph more than 100 guests outside the church!
But that's one of the things I love most about wedding photography. The plan gives us direction, but experience allows us to adapt when the unexpected happens.

A Surprise Proposal at Adamson Estate ❤️
Bradley contacted me with a carefully planned surprise proposal for Hailey at Adamson Estate in Mississauga.
What Hailey thought would be a couples' photo session turned into a beautiful surprise, with their closest friends and family surrounding them.
With “MARRY ME” letters overlooking Lake Ontario, rose petals, dramatic skies, and everyone secretly waiting nearby, Bradley had planned every detail.
After Hailey said yes, we photographed the celebration with their family before continuing with romantic portraits around Adamson Estate.
We then headed to Port Credit for golden-hour photos around the lighthouse, giving them a completely different setting and another part of their engagement story to remember.
I love proposals like this because the photography isn't only about the moment someone gets down on one knee. It's about documenting everything—the anticipation, the reaction, the family, the excitement and the first portraits as an engaged couple.

She thought it was just another couples' photo session… ❤️
Erika and Andrew had worked with me before, so when Andrew reached out about planning a surprise proposal, we set up a believable couples' session.
With help from his family, we met near Hillsburgh Pond in Erin with their two dogs and began photographing as usual—while Andrew secretly had the ring with him.
As golden-hour light came through the trees, Andrew got down on one knee. Erika’s reaction was pure emotion—tears, joy, and two very confused dogs wondering what was happening. 😊
After the surprise, we continued along the Elora Cataract Trailway for relaxed engagement photos on the bridge and in the tall grass.
This session was especially meaningful because I’ve known Andrew’s family for over a decade, documenting many of their milestones—including later photographing their wedding at 1 Hotel Toronto.

One Love Story. Two Beautiful Chapters. ❤️

Every couple has a unique story to tell, and sometimes one engagement session isn't enough to tell it all.

For this first chapter, we chose the timeless elegance of the University of Toronto. Surrounded by its breathtaking architecture, classic style, and warm light, we created images that feel sophisticated, romantic, and timeless.

But this is only the beginning.

In a few weeks, we'll meet again for a completely different experience—an outdoor engagement session with a vintage car, where elegance will give way to a more relaxed, adventurous, and playful side of their relationship.

One of the things I enjoy most about photographing engagement sessions is helping couples express every part of who they are. One setting may reflect their love for classic architecture and formal portraits, while another captures the laughter, spontaneity, and carefree moments that are just as much a part of their story.

There are no rules that say your engagement photos have to fit into a single style.

After photographing couples for more than 25 years, I've learned that the most meaningful collections of photographs are the ones that reflect the many sides of a relationship—not just one.

Because some moments deserve timeless elegance...
..and others deserve open roads, a vintage car, and the freedom to simply enjoy the journey together.

Victoria Park had been on my list of places I wanted to photograph for years, so when Teghan and Andrew told me they wanted their wedding photos there, I couldn't wait.
Their day started with a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary's Church in Kitchener before we made our way to the park. Even though it was one of the busiest afternoons imaginable, we found quiet corners for private vows, celebrated with champagne on the bridge, and created romantic portraits surrounded by the beauty of the park.
The evening ended in Alma, where open fields and soft twilight gave us one final opportunity to create some magical images.
Every wedding reminds me that beautiful photographs are never about the location alone—they're about the people, the light, and the moments they share.

Mississauga City Hall weddings continue to surprise me with how beautiful and personal they can be.
When Brittany and Adrian contacted me, they wanted something a little different from a traditional city hall wedding. Instead of a quick ceremony and a few portraits, they planned a full wedding day that included getting-ready photos, family moments, their civil ceremony, and an extended portrait session around Mississauga City Hall.
The grand staircases, elegant architecture, and beautiful fountain created an amazing backdrop for documenting their story while keeping everything intimate and relaxed.

The Best Stories Never End With "I Do." ❤️

One of the greatest joys of being a wedding photographer is realizing that the wedding day is often just the beginning.

Years ago, I had the privilege of photographing this wonderful couple's engagement session and wedding day. Since then, I've celebrated each new chapter with them—capturing their children's first birthdays, watching their family grow from two to five, and creating new memories together along the way. I was even honoured to photograph the groom's sister's wedding, making the story even more special.

Moments like these remind me that photography is about so much more than beautiful images. It's about relationships built on trust, and the privilege of being invited back to document life's biggest milestones.

One of the greatest privileges of my career has been watching wedding couples become families.".

Some stories begin with "I do."
The best ones continue for a lifetime. ❤️

Some engagement sessions are memorable because of the location. Others because of the couple.
Meaghan and Daniel's Engagement at RC Harris Water Treatment had both.
We planned every detail—from the time of day and outfit changes to how we would move through different lighting conditions. Starting with the beautiful architecture of RC Harris Water Treatment, we finished the evening with golden-hour beach photos, sunset colours, and Toronto's skyline after dark.
Watching everything come together exactly as planned reminded me why preparation is so important in creating meaningful engagement photos.
