Happy Canada Day to all. I looked back in my roll this morning and found this photo I took back in 2018 of my daughter up in Georgian bay. It reminds me of what this great country of ours affords us. Experiencing such marvels that we take so for granted. Along with all that we stand for as Canadians. Blemishes, certainly. But we continue to press forward to improve on our already strong identity. 🇨🇦

Incredibly grateful for one of the most memorable calls back in the fall of 2024. The National Film Board reached out asking me to photograph the extraordinarily talented Colm Feore during his voice-over session for an animated short film. It all started with Fred Smith recommending me to the Film Board. Thank you Fred, truly.

Last night, that short film, “The Girl Who Cries Pearls”, won the Oscar. Congratulations to filmmakers Maciek Szczerbowski and Chris Lavis from Montreal. It is a testament to their perseverance and artistry. Gracious and genuinely a joy to work with. I couldn’t be happier for them both. What an honour to have played even a small part in this journey.

If you haven’t had the chance to see the film it is well worth the time. Incredibly well done.
