I will be the first to say I am not like many photographers out there. I did not start my journey in doing this like many others... some start because they like to take photos (which I do), some start because they are trying to make some extra money to help out with the costs that life brings... I started my journey with a drive to help people and to capture those moments so very many of us take f
or granted. At the young age of 20 I lost my second born child and this unthinkable heartache made me realize just how precious life is and that we need to enjoy life to the fullest. The photos I have of my daughter I hold very dear to my heart. I have had a couple of families come to me some sooner then others and tell me that the photos they had done they will hold very close as someone in the photo had passed as well. I personally believe that just because they have left us does not mean they are gone. That person will forever be with you watching and guiding you through your own journeys and difficult times. My daughter passed away on June 24, 2008 and in her memory on June 24th every year I do one newborn in hospital session for a family who welcomes a baby on this day. I want nothing more then to have my daughters memory live on. This not only gives me something positive to focus on but makes me smile as these families have these photos to cherish as their own children grow. Here are a couple things I do to set myself apart from other photographers out there that you may not know:
- I do not know everything about photography and I am not going to pretend I do. I am constantly learning more, reading books, doing courses to improve because no matter what you do I believe there is always room for improvement.
- I am very flexible with my schedule and bookings. Yes I am a mother of four myself and I totally understand life comes up. Husbands get sent to work, kids get sick, moms get run down and tired and some days we just don't want to do anything! If you book a date and time and for whatever reason cannot make it with some notice of course I reschedule your session at no extra charge.
- If you book a session for example a maternity, newborn, cake smash etc sessions you do have the option to have a couple family photos done as well. I do not charge extra for this.
- Your photos are exactly that. I do not put my name anywhere on them, do not copy write them unless they are on my social media pages such as Instagram, Facebook etc.
- You do have the choice of not having your photos used on social media. I ask all my clients for permission before posting and do have them sign release forms.
- If for whatever reason you receive your photos and there is something you do not like such as the editing style chose, lighting looks off, you would like more editing to remove laugh lines or blemishes or would like less editing for a more natural look let me know. Send me a message and we can get it fixed and back to you as soon as possible. I do not charge extra for this and am only human and will be the first to admit I as well miss things and make mistakes.

- I run my business and do things for my clients that I personally would like to see. If I were to take my children somewhere I want it to be a good experience and not one where everyone is stressed out, unhappy and not wanting to go back
- I enjoy getting feedback from my clients about what they would like to see in their sessions, specific photos they would like or how they liked their photos.
