“Looking for a reasonably priced photographer.”

But… what does reasonable mean?

Because reasonable looks different to everyone.

For a photographer, you’re not just paying for the hour we spend taking your photos. You’re paying for years of experience, thousands of dollars in equipment, insurance, software, education, editing time, communication, preparation, and all the hours behind the scenes that you never see.

And more than anything, you’re trusting someone to document moments you can’t recreate.

Your wedding day. Your newborn at two weeks old. Your babies while they’re still little. Your parents while they’re still here. This exact version of your family that will never exist quite like this again.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a budget. We all have one.

But “within my budget” and “reasonably priced” aren’t necessarily the same thing.

Because putting a price on someone’s work and deciding what is “reasonable” without knowing what goes into it.

Just food for thought🤍

Alberta weather has been extreme this year. Which might even be an understatement. lol But one thing is for sure, in those moments when the storm begins to pass, at that perfect moment when the sun is going down, the true beauty of Mother Nature shines through.

Behind the scenes of these photos at the end of the wedding night: Me, noticing the break in the storm and the light shining through - yelling at the couple to literally run to the field with me as to not miss it - took maybe ten photos before the sky opened up again to the rain. It was perfection✨😍
