A little glimpse from the other side of the camera. šŸ¤

Yesterday was one of those beautifully full wedding days ā€” cameras in hand, running through fields, fixing little details, laughing, creating, and soaking in all the moments happening around us.

Tessa and I donā€™t end up in front of the camera very often, so I always love when we have a few behind-the-scenes photos that show what a wedding day looks like from our side.

Tired feet, full memory cards, messy hairā€¦ and very full hearts. šŸ¤

Alberta bound. šŸ¤

Tessa and I are here in Alberta, and tomorrow we have the absolute privilege of photographing Cody & Avianna as they say I do.

Thereā€™s something so special about the night before a weddingā€”the anticipation, the final little details, and knowing that tomorrow will hold moments their family will remember for generations.

Cameras are ready. Batteries are charged. Coffee will most definitely be involved. ā˜•ļø And Tessa and I are so excited to step into their day and document it allā€”the beautiful details, the big emotions, the quiet in-between moments, and everything that makes their story theirs.

Four years. Four chapters of this beautiful family. šŸ¤

For four consecutive years, I've had the privilege of welcoming this family in front of my camera ā€” and there is something incredibly special about that.

I've watched their little guy grow. I've photographed the changing seasons of their family, the laughter, the connection, and all those little pieces of who they are at that exact moment in time.

And every year, we add another chapter.

That's one of the greatest privileges of what I do. It's never just about creating beautiful photographs. It's about being trusted, year after year, to preserve a family's story as it unfolds.

One day, they'll be able to look back through these photographs and actually see the years passing ā€” together.

This is what I love most about photographing families.

Not perfectly posed. Not everyone looking at the camera.

Just connection, personality and those beautiful little in-between moments that tell the real story of your family.

Because one day, those little hands wonā€™t be quite so little. And photographs like these become priceless.

Some sessions just feel like home. šŸ¤

Not because everything is perfectly posed or everyone is looking at the cameraā€¦

But because the things that make this family theirs are woven right into the photographs.

An old Ford.
A well-loved quad.
A cat who apparently needed to be part of the session. šŸ˜‚
Two sisters who kept me laughing.
And a whole lot of genuine connection in between.

This is exactly why I love photographing families in a way that feels personal to them.
