This is for the moms - here's what actually happens at a family session.

The first few minutes are just settling in - letting your kids explore while I start capturing real, unposed moments.

Then a few simple prompts to get genuine reactions and connection - nothing stiff, just enough direction to bring out the real thing.

There's a couple of quick "everyone look at me" moments for the classics, but that's not the focus.

The rest of the time is just documenting you as a family - walking, laughing, being yourselves.

That's it. No long, drawn-out shot list - just enough time to get real images of exactly where you're at right now.

The difference between a stressed-out family session and an easy, fun one usually comes down to a few small things:

1. Coordinate outfits - don't match everyone exactly.

2. Skip busy patterns and logos/text on clothing
Avoid scheduling around nap time or a packed day.

3. Talk to your kids beforehand - even "we're going to play and take pictures" helps.

4. Choose shoes with some life left in them - feet show up in more shots than you'd think.

5 years of family photos and it still feels effortless every time.

I met Rory when she was 3 years old. Five years later, Ellen and Geremy still trust me to document their family, year after year. Watching Rory grow up through my lens has been one of the biggest honors of this job.

It means everything when clients don't just come back, but trust me again and again.

Ellen and Geremy said it best: "You take amazing photos, with an enjoyable process - the end results are ones I can't wait to give to friends and family!"

Not every family is ready for a full session - and that's exactly why minis exist. Start here.

Maybe you've never worked with me before and want to see if we're a fit. Maybe your toddler has a 10-minute attention span, your teen would rather be anywhere else, or your partner just isn't a "long photoshoot" kind of person. Either way, fall minis were made for you.

20 minutes. No stiff poses, no forced smiles - just relaxed, playful documentation of your family as you actually are, fussy toddlers, too-cool teens, reluctant dads and all.
