Well… today was a reminder that not every inquiry is genuine.

I thought I had booked an incredible photography opportunity, only to discover that the “clients” were actually scammers trying to steal my money.

It’s disappointing because, as a small business owner, every inquiry brings excitement and hope for a new connection. Unfortunately, there are people who take advantage of that.

Thankfully, I recognized the warning signs before any money was lost.

I’m sharing this as a reminder to my fellow photographers and small business owners: trust your instincts, ask questions, and never feel pressured into accepting payments or requests that don’t seem right.

If you own a small business, please take a moment to review your booking process, verify new inquiries carefully, and share this reminder with others in your network. A little caution can save you a lot of stress.

Stay safe, everyone—and thank you to all of my amazing clients who make this business worthwhile. ❤️

I hope this post helps raise awareness and reminds others to be cautious. Thank you to everyone who continues to support RyverView Photography—it truly means the world to me.
