Saw an aerial photo posted yesterday by Fernie Museum of town in 1968.

Tried to replicate the shot with the drone, but could not get anywhere near to the same altitude as the original.

I've had this old Canon 50mm f1.4 since I started shooting professionally over 14 years ago. It's been a workhorse pretty much permanently mounted on my Canon 5DMk2. The sentimental side of me can't seem to part with it even though it has issues making shooting with it mostly useless. Decided to have a go at servicing and making the repairs myself rather than sending off to Canon.

I fly drones, turn dials, press buttons, and swear at the sky when sun goes behind a cloud (and vice versa).

So to be included in business shortlist for 'People's Choice Award' for the Fernie Chamber of Commerce Business Awards is quite astounding, though I'm hugely grateful for the nomination.

Bear in mind the other nominees on this list include businesses that provide free literacy programs for communities across this region; give the elderly and less abled citizens bike access around our town; coordinate one of biggest volunteer-operated music festivals in the region; build, repair, manage 100+ multi-use trails around the town; provide essential and much needed childcare for locals. The list goes on and on!
