Amanda + Michael on a late summer evening in Georgetown. Wandering familiar streets, chasing a little golden light, and ending up at Sadboy Pizza, of course ✨

Drove to Dorset for this one and I’d do it again ✨
A cottage, a lake, dirt roads, flowers picked along the way and these three. Turns out family photos + a little summer adventure is a pretty perfect combination.

Yesterday with Alexandra + Ryan at Eaton Hall. A few glimpses from a day that was equal parts beautiful, emotional and completely them. The kind of wedding where the quiet moments, the big ones, and even splitting the G over a Guinness right after the ceremony deserved to be remembered. Just a few teasers for now because there are so many more I can’t wait to share. Congratulations, Alexandra + Ryan ✨

Sometimes the reschedule is worth it. We had to move our first backyard mini because the weather wasn’t cooperating it was cool and fall like, and then we got this night. Warm light, no rush, and the kind of summer evening you wish you could hang onto a little longer. We explored their magical property, picked flowers and veggies from the garden, watered the plants, ran through the grass, played, hung out with their pup and ended with popsicles + ice cream. This is exactly what I hoped backyard minis would feel like. Less of a “photo session” and more of me tagging along for a little piece of your summer at home. And I’m so, so happy with how these turned out ✨

One of my favourite things to capture — those little curls at the ends of their hair that have somehow held on since they were babies. They’re five now, but there are still these tiny pieces of babyhood if you know where to look ✨

July in photos. I mean we’re halfway through August, but better late than never! July was a full one. Lots of branding sessions, family sessions, backyard minis, a few beautiful weddings, and even some pup portraits for an upcoming project I’m really excited about. We also snuck away to PEI, made a stop in Quebec, and have been trying to soak up as much summer as we possibly can in between it all. July, you were a good one ✨

Backyard minis, exactly how I love them. We wandered the pathways, explored the wildflowers, searched for bugs and frogs, played with bubbles and ended the whole thing with the kids jumping in the pool.

Nothing complicated. Just letting kids be kids, following their lead and photographing all the little things that make summer at home feel like summer. These are the kinds of family photos I love most.

Amelia, year 6. Every year around her birthday, Amelia gets in front of my camera. We started this tradition after her breast cancer diagnosis, and somehow, six years later, we’re still finding new ways to tell her story.

This year, we had absolutely no plan.

We were messaging about something completely unrelated when she mentioned the next day was basically her only free day. I had exactly one hour between sessions. So she drove down from Aurora, we met at my studio and decided we’d just figure it out.

The only “prop” I had was a bouquet of flowers Krystal surprised me with when I got home from PEI. Have I mentioned lately how incredibly thoughtful and kind she is? Amelia threw on one of my dresses, we pulled the bouquet apart, started playing, and somehow made these.

And honestly, I think there’s something pretty perfect about that. No big plan. No elaborate setup. Just Amelia, a handful of flowers, an hour together, and another year worth celebrating. This may be one of my favourites yet.
