Being softer with myself is an area in which I've been working to build more muscle. Despite thinking being hard on ourselves will prevent mistakes next time, and that we need to "pay" for the mistakes we've made, the research shows this isn't so. When we are hard on ourselves, we tend to experience shame and self-resentment rather than openness and growth -which is where self-compassion leads.

"Something really powerful happens when you allow yourself to show up exactly as you are. No makeup, no mask, nowhere to hide. Just you.

There's true vulnerability in allowing yourself to be seen. Like -really seen. And when you allow you to see you.. if you're really open, that is where the magic happens.

Natasha has such a gift with capturing you as you are, and she will show you your most authentic self if you let her. With nothing to hide behind. Because we don't need to hide. Our true selves deserve to be seen, especially by us.

I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to be a muse for her Growth Series. These series of images are what made me fall deeply in love with Natasha and her work so many years ago, and I will forever cherish these images that show me at what feels like the start of my own personal spring after a very long winter."

"Natasha’s growth sessions are such a unique experience. It’s not about posing or trying to be perfect, it’s about being present and captured in a really natural, honest way. The environment felt calm and comfortable, which made it easy to just be myself without overthinking anything.
What I appreciated most was how genuine everything felt. There was no pressure to perform, and that really shows in the final images. The photos feel raw, real, and unfiltered in a way that’s hard to find. It’s a really meaningful experience, and something I’d recommend to anyone who wants to be captured as they truly are."

Growth Portrait Series 🌱

What is a Growth Portrait anyways?
When I was in collage, one of my assignments resulted in photos that I loved so much, I wanted to keep taking photos like that forever.
Back then, it just started off as artsy fartsy photos. But quickly became a passion that was inspiring people to embrace themselves as they are. Bare and free. As we are. In any stage of life. 🌸

Al it is is you in front of a flower or plant of choice (preferably out in nature but open to indoors), no makeup, bare shoulders, with a lot of hair shaking.
