I am so excited to be featured at this year's SkirtsAfire festival! Check out the amazing production "Dance Nation" and explore my art "From Shadows to Light"

"From Shadows to Light is a deeply personal exploration of memory, identity, and growth... This interactive installation invites participants to engage with the collected ephemera, add a message to their younger selves, create their own compositions and shadows, and capture the moment through photographs or videos - a reflection of their own journey from shadows into light."

Christina Hamer’s artwork is a vivid expression of life's fleeting moments, captured through bold, organic forms and vibrant colors. It weaves together the ephemeral with a dynamic energy, creating pieces that feel both spontaneous and deeply intentional. Each work reflects a connection to the natural world and the transient beauty found within it. See what they have been working for this upcoming NOA artwalk via instagram ! “Roots & Roots” at the Stanley Milner Library. I am super excited to have 2 of my pieces showcased in this show!!!

“Revisited” is a reflection of my evolving relationship with both the medium and the subject matter. Originally painted in 2015, this waterscape has been revisited and reimagined, resulting in a composition that harmonizes the raw texture of the water with the vibrancy of many moons illuminating the water’s surface. The dialogue between the original and the current versions of the work is integral to this piece, representing the continuous ebb and flow of creative energy.
Water as the central theme in this work symbolizes both the roots that anchor us and the routes that guide us forward. In this piece, the water serves as a metaphor for the collective journeys we all undertake, whether they are physical, emotional, or spiritual. The many moons cast their light across the textured waves, each representing a different phase in our personal and shared histories.
“Roots & Routes” as a theme resonates deeply with this work. The interplay between the two versions of the painting mirrors the way water shapes our paths, both grounding us in our origins and propelling us towards new horizons. This piece is not just a reflection of the past, but also a celebration of the ongoing journey, ever-changing and full of possibilities.
