Important things you must know about your family session:

1. They’re chaos. Every single one of them. Even the ones that look like peaceful cuddle sessions.

2. Skip the snacks and toys, instead go for the fart jokes for those true genuine smiles.

3. Let them bring their comfort item, even if it’s an old ratted teddy bear who’s missing some limbs. One day you’re going to miss those little hands carrying that bear everywhere, but thankfully we will have a memory of it.

4. Connection over correction. The days of sears family photos are over. I promise I will capture those perfect smiles that saying cheese will never get. You just focus on cuddling your loved ones, and trying to breath in these small moments. I’ll do the rest. 🫶

5. Dress comfortably. Now I don’t mean sweat pants (but it is your session after all), but something you feel truly yourself in. Wear something that makes you feel GOOOOD. It’ll show in the photos.

6. Can’t find shoes? Go barefoot. Might get a pokey or two in your foot, but it’s worth it.

7. Ain’t nobody felt comfortable right away in front of the camera. My job is to make you feel comfortable. I’m pretty good at it, mostly because I’m an awkward potato who talks too much.

One of my favourite things about this little business of mine is getting to watch so many families grow. Every year when those family photos are booked, it’s like catching up with an old friend. It’s so amazing, and a tiny bit strange, to watch these tiny humans become the biggest personalities. But truly, how lucky am I to get to be part of every chapter of someone’s love story? Ok gross, enough with the mush. Incase you didn’t catch it, I’ll have crab apple (aka cherry blossom) details posted tomorrow. 🥰
