Also, there is the occasional landscape and wildlife photos. Thanks for the support! As I have travelled around Alberta, I have noticed so many buildings of different types, slowly fading into history. When I am not taking photos of abandoned buildings, watch for wildlife and landscapes. Canon is my equipment of choice.

Does anyone know if Em-Te-Town near Alder Flats ever got purchased and re-opened or saved? It was a great place to explore - it was built in 1980 by Leonard Mohr. The dream of a unique resort ended when it closed in 2018.

This is a photo of the recreated barbershop that was in one of the buildings at the site.

I wonder if it is still standing ... Former Edmonton SW Edmonton house that was also the local post office.

It took some research, searching and a little bit of patience but finally found this little piece of Edmonton area history.

The remains of the 1905 Woodbend Post Office. The McNeilly family operated a country store and post office. The store carried just about anything anyone needed. Mike Block trucked supplies from Edmonton for Robert McNeilly. Robert’s son John eventually took over the business and relocated in Namao. Until recently, the store was known as “Johnny’s Grocery Store”.

I heard this quote the other day while listening to an audio book. I found it fitting for the type of photography I do, with one word changed. Written to Photographed

"History is lived forwards but it is written in retrospect. We know the end before we consider the beginning and we can never entirely recapture what it was to know the outcome." - C. V. Wedgewood
