And the result from taking the Matt Rife portrait and recreating it.

What I have learned in this one is using a beauty dish would have given me a closer result to what I was looking for. However I am pleased with the shadows and the key light placement.

I could use a new profile photo on here so I think I will try to recreate this image next for myself.

Alright. The inspiration and the result, minus the jacket shot since I don't own one like that.

Something I need to work on - Posing, granted it's very difficult being a self portrait.

This was done with a 50mm. I think I would benefit from a 35 mm with the space I have to better recreate these images.

What I am happy with. Re-creating the color and lighting. It took me a moment to realize that a touch of brown in the shadows brought the image closer to the inspiration.

All in all a fun exercise!

My next photography challenge will be to recreate this collage! I'll try for a self portrait but if anyone in the Edmonton area is interested in helping I'd appreciate it!
