These are the photos that will hit differently in a few years.

The lap snuggles. The dog piles. The way they cling to every word you say like you’re their superhero.

It feels completely normal when you’re in it. Like they’ll always be this little.

Thankfully, growing up doesn’t have to mean growing out of hugs.

I can confirm my 12-year-old still hugs me like this. He’s just considerably heavier now 😌

It’s been a couple years since I’ve done one of these, so hi! I’m Justine.

I’m a photographer, a wife, a mom of two incredible kids and a firm believer that Mexican food is almost always the right answer.

I love coffee, Costco runs with my husband, Scotland, location scouting with my kids, YA fiction, rain during photoshoots and movie scenes where the music somehow hits just as hard as the dialogue.

Lately, I’ve been learning to make peace with imperfection.

Not in my clients. In myself.

I’ve spent a lot of years chasing impossible standards and moving the finish line every time I got close to it. These days, I’m trying to appreciate things for what they are instead of what they could have been.

Including photos like this one.

It’s soft, it’s imperfect, and it feels more like me than a perfectly polished headshot ever would.

One thing that hasn’t changed: how I approach photography.

People often talk about finding a niche, but I’ve never been able to squeeze life into one category.

The stories I get invited into are bigger than that.

A wedding becomes a family. Tiny kids become big kids. People grow, change, fall in love, start over and step into new seasons.

I value connection. I value relationships. And getting to walk alongside your story is one of my favourite parts of my job.

So if you’re new here, welcome!

This is why you’ll often see me wandering around your session saying, “Oooo will come over here for a second?”

I spotted the way the sunlight was filtering through these blossoms and knew it would highlight her face and belly so beautifully.

I fear I may have taken hand-me-downs for granted 😂

At some point everyone around us stopped having older kids and suddenly I’m out here buying actual wardrobes??

Also, where are we buying affordable kids clothes these days because I need help 😅
