Doesn’t this photo give you the biggest smile?!?

This moment almost didn’t happen!!

This sweet girl wanted absolutely nothing to do with photos with her dad. We gave her space, and followed her lead. No forcing. Just patience.

And then, right at the very end, she ran straight into his arms for hugs, kisses, and the biggest belly laughs. 💛

As a photographer, I’ve learned that patience is often more important than posing. Children don’t work on our timeline, they work on theirs.
One thing 22 years of photographing families has taught me is this: children don’t need direction nearly as much as they need time.

Those are the moments I’m waiting for.

The moments that can’t be forced, only patiently waited for. 🤍

Bree’s grad photos!

I did 3 sessions (basketball, horse and sunset) with Bree the last month to document this special milestone. Her mom and I had a blast 🫶🏻

🤎 The Heart Behind the Camera: 5 Things About Me 🌾📷

🤎 I’ve been doing this for 22 years, and one of the greatest gifts of my job is getting to witness every stage of a family’s story. From engagements and weddings to newborns, growing families, graduations, and everything in between. It’s an honor to document the moments that become part of your legacy.

🤎 Photography has taught me to slow down and notice the beauty in the ordinary. The seemingly small moments often become the ones we treasure most.

🤎 I absolutely love photographing kids. The laughter, the energy, the sibling bonds, the chaos, and all the beautifully imperfect moments in between. The bigger the family, the more stories there are to tell, and those are some of my favorite stories to capture and preserve for years to come.

🤎 Wide open fields, golden sunsets, and birds singing in the distance. That’s my happy place. It’s where I feel most inspired, most at peace, and most like myself.

🤎 I always try to bring my film camera to family get togethers. Time moves far too quickly, and I’ve learned that the moments we think we’ll remember forever are often the ones that fade first. I don’t want to forget the people, the places, or the feeling of being together. So I take the photo.

***This picture of me was taken by my very dear friend, Jeannie, 16 years ago in Texas. My favorite place!!

Last year, the Vanstee family heard the words every family prays for: remission.

A season of hope. A chance to breathe. A chance to dream about tomorrow again.

But last week, his family received the heartbreaking news that his cancer has returned.

And while cancer may have come back, so has Kian’s courage.

He is strong. He is brave. He is resilient beyond words. A little boy carrying a battle far bigger than anyone his age should ever have to face.

Today, I ask you to keep Kian and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Pray for strength on the hard days, hope when fear feels overwhelming, and healing beyond what doctors can explain.

Kian, you are a fighter. You have already shown the world what courage looks like, and there are so many people standing beside you as you fight once again.

Your story isn’t defined by cancer. It’s defined by your strength. 🤍

Let’s fill the comments with love, prayers, and words of encouragement for Kian and his family as they face this battle once again. 💛🎗️

My heart goes out to Kian and his family.

Before every session, I take a few minutes to pray over my session and over my clients. I pray for connection, inspiration, and the ability to truly see people for who they are.
Not just poses or perfect smiles, but the love between them, the little in between moments, and the feeling they’ll want to remember years from now.

The night of this session was one of those sessions that reminded me exactly why I do this. Everything flowed so naturally, the connection was genuine, and every frame felt full of life and emotion.

As an artist, those sessions fill your soul in a way that’s hard to explain. They leave you driving home inspired, emotional, and deeply grateful that this is what you get to call work.

And more than anything, I’m grateful to God for giving me this talent and allowing me to preserve these moments for families to hold onto forever.

Ontario is apparently going to be the coldest place on earth this weekend.
If you need me, no you don’t.

Roads closed, school buses cancelled, businesses closing early, snow plows being pulled off the roads, week after week. It’s been a wild winter so far.

And yes, I still love it!! ❄️

Scroll to the end to see how much baby banks was sick sick of me 🤣 he threw his head so far back he looks like a headless baby.

How’s everyone coping with this arctic winter we’re having. I’m glad I don’t have any outdoor sessions with the -33 temps coming. I’ll be nice and cozy in my studio holding little newborns 🥰

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ps ALWAYS love having my friend Jess and her beautiful family in front of my lens. It’s always a chaotic but hilarious time ❤️
