It's been an incredibly busy few months at KL Child Photography...so busy that we haven't been updating social media! Since January, we have been working with over 1700 children at 38 sites across lower BC - from Chilliwack to Poco, North Vancouver to South Surrey. Nearly every single site was a long-term returning partner, with many of them long-term clients of 4, 5 or 6 years.
Two trips to the island for our now 9 partner schools in the greater Victoria area closed out this phenomenal season. Truth be told, I can't help but love any opportunity possible to commute across the seas. (Since as my own 10-year-old has informed me, trips to Victoria are now "overseas.")
Every once in a while, people ask us what it's like to work with so many young children. I can't help but smile and say that it's the most amazing experience ever - that we never know what to expect, and it's the unexpected that make the experience so precious.
Case in point. Today I was at a beloved long-term partner school, capturing graduation photos for 4-year-olds I'd photographed since they were 1. While I was there, I had the following conversation with a sweet little guy:
"You know, this is my last year of school!"
Me: "You're right! You're going to kindergarten soon, right?"
"Yes! And tomorrow, I'm going to another country!!!"
Me: "Oh, wow! Where are you going?"
"Alberta!!!!!!"
You can't make these conversations up...and every single one never ceases to amaze me. Every single one of these children puts the biggest smile on my face every day. It's such an honour to work with such wonderful and inspiring personalities, and to see the children day in and day out, year in and year out is truly a gift.
..and with that, we're fully into the spring season. This spring promises to be another busy one, with sessions booked across the lower mainland & Victoria, and up to Whistler. We are so excited to see all of our little friends again!
While I've generally ceased posting photos of the children out of respect for their privacy, know that behind the scenes, it's another busy season here at KL Child Photography...and that we are so blessed to work with each and every one of you.
..and for those who are wondering, we are now booking spring 2027 (!!) dates, with select autumn 2027 dates also now open.
