Hidden within plain sight…

A Spotted Towhee fledgling pretending it’s part of the bush despite not quite looking like the bush at all… but to give it credit it wasn’t squeaking 24/7 like some fledglings I see.

A Great Grey owl locking onto its target before jumping and showing off that incredible wingspan!

I photographed this great grey owl family in the beginning of June and to think now it’s almost the end July!! Feels like time is going at 3x speed these days…

but the memories I’ve made over those two months have been for the most part very good and a lot of those special unforgettable moments too! I hope everyone has had a couple of those type of memories too this spring!

Also sadly we’re getting into what I call the boring season of birds again until fall migration fully picks up since all those spring and summer migrants are starting to leave :( but for me that means a ton of hiking instead!

A barred owlet coughing up a pellet and looking at it with wonder. these lil fellas seem to always be so curious of the world around them.
Also if your in the Surrey area I will be leading a bird walk with on July 25th where you might be able to see some of these little barred owlets in person! Give them a call to book a spot if you’re interested!
