This could be a sow trying to lose her 3 year old cub, possibly so she can mate OR it’s a sow running from a boar, as we can’t really see the second bear’s face, SO purely speculation as to what’s going on here. It is kind of fun to try and figure out what’s happening in the wild, don’t you think?

These two, I believe are a sow with a maybe 3 year old cub? So, the mamas and their babies are now coming out of their dens. Enjoy the best bear viewing!

This was an exciting catch for me. I’ve ever only captured these two at night. May 9th, these two finally showed up in the daytime. There are two videos and the third, is a screen shot, so you can get a good look at them. We suspect these two were given the boot from a pack downstream from us as this pack has several black wolves in it. The second video and photo are in the comments.

Happy Mother’s Day! It’s the beginning of bear mating season, so often a male will follow a female around until she’s ready to accept him, to make her a mama. I suspect this could be what’s going on here.

The bears have emerged from their dens. Usually the boars are first followed by the sows and cubs. The cinnamon black bear has cemented the reason as to why my cameras are in metal cases. He tried hard to eat the camera for lunch but the case saved it.

The grizzly must have turned off somewhere as he was only on the middle camera.

A lot of wolf behaviours this week on the trail cams. This one is chasing a caribou. These guys should be in the Olympics, man can they run! They’re all running for their lives basically, one to get away, the rest to eat. And, the middle camera was shut off 🤦‍♀️, so no video from there but within time frames - I think it’s the same caribou. Caribou 1 / wolves 0

I have been remiss in posting my wildlife videos here. Lots of my captures are on my instagram page. I may post some older ones as well, so you can catch up on the fun. As Facebook only lets me post one at time on this page format - I will post the other 4 in the captions.

These are 5 of the coolest videos.

I’ve decided that the pack has 4-5 adults and they seem to travel in pairs.

I think the first wolf on the first video may be with pups, as it has a belly on it (and no blood on its face - which I’ve seen in other videos when they have bellies) and the second wolf is the one that led the puppies through last year. Pups are due shortly, as the weather warms - so we will see.

The videos after that shows a wolf marking two branches right in front of the camera which is of interest to the others walking through in subsequent videos - so I think at least three males and maybe two females? (The marking behaviour reminds us they are wild dogs - but predatory wild dogs). We can be friends as long as they keep their distance from my puppies. Interested to hear what you think!
