Smiling as I share these! I’ve had the chance to work with Liza in her professional capacity, photographing for her business, The Grove and she also keeps me functioning as my chiropractor (a true magician). So I was overjoyed when she asked me to come capture some family photos as their family celebrates two new grads!

The combined creativity, wisdom, and quick wit in this family—and the effortless way they have with each other, made capturing them easy and genuine. Congratulations to this incredible family and thank you for having me out! I adore you all!

Ok, I couldn’t hold back on sharing some more photos of this phenomenal production - for those of you still heading to see 9 to 5, I am still still keeping my fave moment under wraps. But here are a few more glimpses of the incredible energy, talent, and heart this cast and crew bring to the stage.

For those of you heading to the Sid Williams Theatre to see Three Legged Dog Productions Society of 9 to 5.you are in for a treat! I had the pleasure of photographing the show last night, and it was an absolute delight. As Dolly says, it’s about “pouring yourself a cup of ambition,” and this cast and crew delivers that energy in every moment of this demanding show.
I was blown away by the incredible talent! The voices, the choreo, the acting, the live band and the set and props (note that I have questions about the photocopier magic - how did that work?)
We are so fortunate to have this level of theatre in our community. Feeling so grateful to everyone who helps theatre thrive here. I have lots more photos to share, but was strategic in my choice of the one image I am sharing, as I don’t want to spoil any of the fabulous moments. 💖🎶

Every bit of me is craving those warm evenings outside again — wandering through nature with families or grads, and my camera creating photos!
While I’m definitely spending less time on social media and photographing part-time these days, I am still photographing and I just opened my spring and early summer schedule.
So please shoot me a message or email [email protected] to chat about booking.
However, in a slightly unexpected turn of events, I’ll actually be off to Europe for most of May with my sister (do you have tips for Amsterdam, Slovenia, Hungary and Poland - please share) which means I only have a couple spots available in May, and am mostly booking April and June forward.

I have been on an intentional social media break, but tonight is the annual YANA Comox Valley Big Love event, and I needed to share!

I am looking forward to seeing all the amazing folks in the community tonight who support YANA. And it is YANA’s 40th anniversary!!! We love you YANA 💛

As I was reflecting on the role the organization has played in our lives — and all the beautiful families I have had the honour of getting to know through capturing their stories (something that started with capturing our own family in 2007, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at past presentations. 😍 (also noting I have grown as a photographer since then - seeing so many opportunities for tighter composition 😂😜)

Here is one of those past presentations, with music by Comox Valley’s own - Helen Austin.

Paula and Chris Part 2
All last year I knew I’d be wrapping up 2025 with something truly special. Having this day to look forward to was such a joy. And the day, well, it was everything you’d expect with Chris and Paula.
There was so much meaning in every corner of the celebration (and yes… plenty of Kleenex 🥹) and yet while every detail was meticulously planned and cared for, the whole day felt completely chill. It was pretty magical, I think that’s what happens when things are truly aligned.
I’ve known Paula forever — maybe through Studio IPF: Inner Pursuit Fitness, maybe elsewhere — but, it doesn’t matter how, what matters is how fortunate I am to know her, and now Chris too. Anyone who knows them knows what I am talking about, they are a brave, life-loving, heart-led duo, and I am so incredibly happy for them.
And to top it all off, seeing so many familiar faces and past clients there made the day all the more meaningful and fun and I had the absolute pleasure of working with the most fabulous vendors (and having my hubby Thomas by my side as my assistant.)

Makeup: The amazing and most lovely Shelby Lynn Makeup Artistry
Catering:Our pals at More Eatery and our go-to Campbell River stop
Celebrant: Barbara Densmore Celebrant/Officiant , who also married us a few years ago and Paula's dad this year.
Location: 40 Knots Winery who took incredible care of everyone all day - thank you!
Cake: OMG Macarons my 2023 addiction, currently under control, might bring it back in 2026

I recently got to take some photos for As You Like It Products and Catering and it came with a lot of sampling - no complaints here! We’re completely obsessed with Chef Laura’s sauces, and her pre-made meals have saved us from so many “eggs or ramen again?” nights during busy months. To be clear, eggs and ramen are fabulous, but having Laura’s meals and the nurturing feeling of someone else cooking for you is more fantastic. You can find her at the Comox Valley Market or via her website https://www.unionbaycatering.ca/
and big thanks to my pal Shellie for letting us take over her kitchen.

Last weekend's Jeremy Dutcher performance was something truly special. I couldn't sleep after because I was still processing. It was powerful, intimate, beautiful and deeply moving. Plus, the energy in the audience was one of those special moments where it felt like the whole audience was sharing something impactful and magical. Please bring him back! And thank you, Sid team, for your continued commitment to Indigenous representation. It truly matters in our community.
And thanks for having me out to capture all the fantastic programming - so much great stuff coming up as well!

I’m always captivated by the stories behind all the motion. Airports are never just about travel -they’re about people and connection. It was wonderful to be back at the airport, photographing and getting a behind-the-scenes view at the systems and the people who make them all happen. I love being there — learning, photographing, and working alongside such a great team. Thanks to the airport staff and our models for making this shoot so wonderful.
