Moments that change your life.

Hearing the rustling of the trees, then watching this magnificent creature, decend the bank of the lake into this shallow bay, tree leaves hanging from its rack...

Sitting 40 feet away in a canoe, deep within the backcountry of one of Canada's most incredible parks; is nothing short of incredible!

Each frame I come across with this guy, while culling the tens of thousands of images in storage, just makes me pinch myself all over again!

I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I have had with this photographic journey and especially thankful for all of you who follow along, support and encourage me each and every day!

Whisky-Jack aka Canada Jay aka Grey Jay

I absolutely love these little guys! I think I say that about anything I post with respect to nature and for the most part, it is true lol.

One of my favourite things about photography is that sometimes a photo sends you down a rabbit hole you never expected.

Before photographing one of these little guys, I had no idea that the name "Whiskey Jack" comes from Wisakedjak, a figure found in Cree, Algonquin, and other First Nations teachings. Wisakedjak is often described as clever, curious, mischievous, and always keeping life interesting.

Honestly, that sounds a lot like a Canada Jay.

If you've ever spent time around one, you know they're fearless. They'll appear out of nowhere, watch your every move, and if you let your guard down for a second, they may decide your lunch belongs to them.

The more I learn about wildlife, the more I realize every species has a story beyond what we see through the lens. This was one I didn't know, and I'm glad I took the time to learn it.

Dinnertime for this Green Heron!

Flat out on my belly, my vanguard veo go 265ab pushing it's limits, legs sprawled all over the rocks, I moved into position to catch this incredibly stealthy hunter.

The precision with which these birds catch their meals is nothing short of WOW. Similar, I'm sure, to the passerbys looking on at me, all cockeyed and sprawled out for this odd little bird.

I say it a lot, but I truly am in love with. Ature and everything she provides. Just another reason to shine a light, talk about awareness and hopefully inspire others to care enough about pritecting and conserving it.
